Unit 3-60 - Digital Buffer

This one will be brief (/giggle). Eight years ago, Doctor Benjamin Yacht created a piece of life-altering technology: artificial intelligence. He kept his work secret until eventually confiding in his, then, friend and co-worker, Doctor Philippa. At first, they proceeded with business as usual and everything was fine. But Doctor Philippa is an idealist. She's an innovator. She's ruthless. She wanted to reap all of the advantages that her friend's work brought and to create a series of supercomputers that would benefit Echo Labs Incorporated for decades to come. Seeing the fault in such a thing, Doctor Yacht disallowed it and deleted his work - but not before using some of its potential to create an AI. No, it wasn't this one. It was a different one named Unit 9-30. But it's important to know which came first. Knowing his betrayal would be the death of him, Doctor Yacht uploaded a section of his memories into Unit 9-30 and set out to create a separate AI. Yes, this one. The one aptly named Unit 3-60. Move the 3, turn the 9 upside down, move the 0. Simple, really. With both AIs online, he uploaded the second half of his memories into Unit 3-60, which became his personal companion. That brings us to current day.

Current day, 2012. Unit 3-60 works alongside her companion Doctor Yacht. They do everything together. Well, not everything. This isn't a game about that. But it's important to understand the bond these two share. It goes beyond physical or emotional - it is digital. It shatters realities and obliterates conventional meanings. You may notice a pattern, in fact, forming throughout these little character introductions. Bonds of friendship and love are common themes. Anyway, to wrap this brief introduction up, I'll just say that Unit 3-60 is possibly the Samwise Gamgee of Heartfire: A Born Again Saga. She doesn't get the most lines, but she has the largest impact.

Combat:
Obviously, having an AI companion during combat recalculates the odds in your favor. I mean, look at her. She's nearly bullet-proof. What would a bandit's sword or a mage's fireball do against that? Nothing. But Unit 3-60 isn't invincible. She doesn't have a constantly rejuvenating pool of magic like the others, so when she's out, she's out. Use her sparingly, when she's accompanying you. Use her to one-shot enemies with low HP, use her buffs/debuffs more than anything else. Think of her as a vendor who follows you into combat, constantly handing out buffs and debuffs to allies and enemies.

TL;DR
Unit 3-60 is one of two AIs who hold Doctor Yacht's memories. She's pivotal to the story; possibly the most important. In combat, think of her as a buff/debuff vendor. That's immune to everything.
