Overview
This game was originally created as an entry to the Indie Game Making Contest 2018. Between work, wife and kids, and other bits and pieces, I reduced the scope of the game to ensure I'd have an entry ready for submission. In the end, I came 112th out of 330 entries and didn't want it to end there. I promised myself I'd keep working on the game regardless of the contest's outcome so here we are.
Plot
In Bail's world, if you don't turn up for your trial then your next of kin is forced to face your sentence instead! Bail's a bounty hunter, it's his job to track down any no-shows so that their sons, daughters, wives, husbands, nieces, or nephews don't end up serving prison time for crimes their relatives committed!
Gameplay
The game plays like a mix between traditional Final Fantasy, Shenmue, and Yakuza. You'll be given a bounty, have to track the perpetrator down, and then bring him in. This will involve talking to people, finding clues, and lots of punching people!
Current Progress
I have a demo build that was submitted to the IGMC 2018. It shows the basic concept through a simple bounty that sees you tracking down a drugs dealer. Now the IGMC results are out, I'm picking up where I left off to expand on the game by fixing bugs that got reported, acting on player feedback, and expanding the initial bounty. I'm also reviewing the graphics, something I'll expand on below.
