Drake

The protagonist. Orphaned before a time he can remember, Drake has grown up living with the family of his best friend Garret. The two are unseperable, that is, unless Garret is found with his childhood sweetheart Rachel. Dismayed with the rotting state of their homeland, they spend years plotting a quiet escape into the south. Finally, as Drake is about to turn 19, their dream becomes a reality. The two dodge the draft and the war, sneaking silently towards the Val border mountains.


Garret
Age: 19
Hometown: Escad, Saldonia

He never got over losing Rachel. He could do nothing while the army took her away. He'd do anything to see her again. This obsession dominates him.


Brian
Age: 27
Hometown: Royal Capitol City Vesta, Dameus

Just a little bit, or quite a lot insane. But that's a matter of perspective. Brian digs girls. He digs steep odds and adventure. He's a free soul out to see the world. Like Drake and Garret, Brian is a draft dodger. He chose to leave behind a civil war in his homeland Dameus several years ago. Unfortunately it disgraced his family. He has lost contact with his brother Kethren, his parents and their best friend Cherise.


Bacchus
Age: 35
Hometown: Sheria, Val

Bacchus hates those damn republicans. He has a knack for pissing Brian off. He has somehow managed to reach the rank of General in the Val Army. Is he a farce or just ahead of his time? His troops are always wasted, because there's more beer than ammunition at his barricade. Empty Beer bottles line the halls, because really, who is sober enough to clean up? He manages the first major line of defense near the Val-Saldonia border, and proudly, no one has manned the outpost in weeks.


Eori
Age: 23
Hometown: Gecynde, Saldonia

Eori is and always will be a kid. She doesn't like greasy old men or Luana. She was captured several years ago and entered into the first phase of the Chalcis project. She and Sol escaped and have been hiding in the Slug Cave ever since. No one else has managed to break free of the machines but them.



Bilanx
Age: 38
Hometown: Hesperia, Saldonia

Once a beautiful young man, Bilanx stumbled upon an old and most captivating Sword. He placed his hands around the hilt and at once felt terror as the sword fused itself to his arm. Slowly, the Sword began to take over his body. Soon Bilanx found himself a new creature. Led by the will of the dark blade, his true self can now only see through his eyes.


Raimus
Age: 25
Hometown: Lyceum Tribe, Val

He was born to the Lyceum tribe, but left to become a mercenary for hire. Raimus is not a ruthless killer by nature, but he prides himself on a job well done. He and his adoptive sister Domina work for Dairo. At first his bloody assignment was just a means to take care of her, but having saved up more than enough money to leave the army, he remains. Raimus is logical, and is not very forthcoming.


Domina
Age: 18
Hometown: Unknown

Domina never talks about her childhood. She has lived as a sister to Raimus for several years. She opposes the war, but finds herself constantly thrown into battle. She's well trained. They call her the lightning assassin. She is intelligent and cunning with words. Manipulation is one of her best skills.
