For years Emperor Zero the terrible has been trying to snatch the fair maiden. But everytime, the hero has foiled his plans by traversing his elaboratly designed, but not impossible, fortresses and jumping on his head- thus saving the fair maiden.

But not this time. Zero has had it. The hero has foiled his plans for the LAST time. This time, he's just going to neglect to add the platforms to his carefuly designed fortress and watch as the hero haplessly falls into the pit over and over until it's game over- on the first level!

Unfortunatley for Zero, this is the perfect time for Mega Platforms Inc(tm) to provide their brand new platform-express service- for heroes on the go!

Quick, hero, utilize the platform-express service to get to Zero's lair, jump on his head, and save the fair maiden!

UPDATE (7/1/2010):

Added a new version which starts you with 15 lives. After reading the reviews I felt kind of bad. (And I also have no idea how I managed to beat it back when I first released it- version 1.0 had no level select so it was all one shot with 3 lives. I think abusing the time slow down helps.) You can copy your save data by copying startup/save/wrld.dat between your old and new version.

I thought this ws in rpg maker 2003 first. I was like wow! I gotta see this! This will teach me something but then i noticed it was sphere. Good work anyway.
This game is officially part of RMN SNEWS #6's Play Something! installment. Theme: Platformers. Congrats! (More people play this now!)
Despite it being impossible, I managed to make it to world four on this awhile back. It's a pretty nice game, even though the enemies don't have much variety. The platform drawing works better than in most other games I've seen that use the same gimmick.
Well this game is cool. Very nostalgic...BUT ITS RIGHT HANDED ONLY xD Support for arrow keys would have been nice but still, great afternoon challenge :)
Wow. Hard. :)

It's a definite throw-back to the days when you had a certain number of tries before you had to start all over again, however that mechanic is... unforgiving in a game this tough.

I like the idea, and implementation is actually pretty smooth (I'd make right-click draw lines and left-click jump to help with platforming maybe? Would be interesting to see how that controls) but for a game so hard, I think we're rather harshly punished. (Imagine I Wanna Be the Guy with limited lives...)

Also, why doesn't this have 3x as many downloads at the very least?
The game does not detect the buttons on my USB Microsoft mouse. The pointer works but I cannot select or draw any platforms. Please implement backup keyboard buttons.
