Through a series of design choices, we created 7 characters which will be the focus for our further Let's Draws...
Introducing the Explorer's Guild!
Following the world ideas found in the first Let's Draw "Space Ninja", the universe is vast and advanced. The sun is so hot now, that humans have had to leave Earth, settling colonies along the moons of Saturn, Uranus and a few near Jupiter. There are some scrappers on Earth, who live in the planet core, but otherwise the race ventured out. Some such leave the Milky Way to find new civilizations, planets, or treasure! These people belong to the Explorer's Guild.
-Blake Seam-
An alien bounty hunter who is both greedy and cunning. He used to work freelance as a bounty hunter, and is known to take up the odd hit if the Exploring jobs are dry. He is something of a leader among the Explorers.
A loveable rogue, he will steal from the rich and get richer. But he will not step on a cat, or steal from the poor.
-Narcissa-
A flower creature with a bad attitude and lots of style. She was freed from a slave farm in the Perseus Solar System. After escaping, and needing work, she found the Explorer's Guild. It is her home now, and the members are her family.
She is often at odds with the -Bounty Hunter- for leadership of the group. Though the odd time she comes into leadership, she wonders what the -Bounty Hunter- would do.
-B-32-
A brand new humanoid android who is innocent and curious. It serves as the heart of the group. Because it understands little about the world around it, the little android uses basic logic to keep the team working together. It was originally a child's toy, though through the tinkering of -Mechanic-, this little android is a capable part of the team.
-Barkley-
An obese dog-man who is very drunk and sloppy. When no one else in the universe would hire this slob, the Explorer's Guild gave him a chance. He has a keen nose when he's sober, but unfortunately he usually is too drunk to act responsibly. Often the comic relief of the group, as most members except -New Android- and -Mechanic- find his drunken high jinks bothersom or worrying.
-Geronimo-
A brave cactus alien, who is penniless and depressed. One of -Bounty Hunter-s old buddies, joined the Explorer's Guild for something to do. Despite his size, -Brave Cactus- is incredibly strong. So strong, in fact, that he has to be careful just what he does, for fear of hurting someone. It is unknown at the moment why he has a badge.
-Inspector Gatteau-
A detective cat-person, both egotistical and stupid. Before joining the Explorer's Guild, -Dumb Cat- had his own private eye establishment, but for some reason, he seldom had customers. He is the resident, self-proclaimed, smart guy of the team. Raised from a man-kitten in an aristo-cat-ic house.
-Maxwell-
An introverted mechanic who is secretly a hero by night. He is mysterious, and friendly. This man is quiet and no one really knows him that well. He spends the days fixing vehicles, spaceships, and the Explorer's Guild equipment and computer systems. When there's a mission to be had, he will probably be nearby watching, waiting to give his advice when the team is stumped. Otherwise, he keeps entirely to himself.

Main Assignment
Each one of the people who sign up will get a bunch of questions to answer about the main 7 characters. Each person will have to answer something about all 7 characters, and submit names for each character. At the end we will vote for favourite names, and compile the questions for each character.

This time on Let's Draw, you will be drawing the heroes in a group shot together, either on a strange planet or on a blank canvas. That's up to you. Draw the characters in your own style, and don't worry about making them perfect.

I completely bailed on the last one but I'll sign up to this one anyway since it doesn't seem to involve any drawing at all! I should be able to manage that right. Right?
Sent the questions! Post name choices for the characters in this topic or via pm. Either way we will vote at the end of the 7 days.
Please refrain from posting any one word answers. Do not just say "Because he's greedy" or something, make up a reason why he/she is greedy... maybe something in his/her past? That sort of thing. Everything is entirely made-up, so have fun with it! :D

New Android
Q. -New Android- loses his/her bathing suit while swimming in the ocean near a beach. What does the -New Android- do and why?
A. -New Android- will continue to do whatever it was doing. If it notices someone looking at it, will assume this person is confused, and will explain "I lost my bathing suit" and point to the ocean. It does not have any reason to feel embarassed, and doesn't understand that other people expect it to feel embarassed.
Q. What are 3 pet peeves of -New Android-?
1. things NEED to be properly aligned. Pens on a desk must be lined up, stacks of paper must be squared, chairs pulled in snugly to their respective desks, books shelved neatly, etc...
2. anything done in an improper sequence. for example, if drunk dog is getting a cold one from the fridge, he MUST open the fridge, grab a can (from the meticulously aligned row of beers), close the fridge door and THEN crack the beer. If he cracks the beer BEFORE closing the door, he gets upset. ie- he hates things out of order because he must process things as a sequence (being a robot n' all)
3. excessive noise - his untrained auditory system has trouble zeroing in on particular sounds, so when it is noisy he has trouble staying focused
Q. -New Android- sees a twenty dollar bill fall out of a stranger's pocket. No one is around to witness it except -Drunk Dog-, and the stranger is oblivious to the missing money. What does -Drunk Dog- do, and why?
A. After calculating that it neither needs the money, nor have reason to suspect the person did not intentionally drop the money, New Android would leave the money there. Forgetting about the incident entirely, he would carry on with the day.
Q. -New Android- is at the hospital and someone important to them is in agony, kept alive by life support. The important person asks -New Android- to pull the plug, effectively ending the important person's life. What would -New Android- do, and why?
A. New Android, not fully understanding the concept of death yet, and seeing an opportunity to end Important Person's pain, pulls the plug. He is later beset by the traumatic and guilt-ridden realization of what death means, having to come to terms with his own actions.
Q. -New Android- is at the hospital and someone important to them is in agony, kept alive by life support. The important person asks -New Android- to pull the plug, effectively ending the important person's life. What would -New Android- do, and why?
A. I imagine he'd have a crisis of conscience because of his rigid and innocent programming making him unable to perform such an act. He'd simply freeze, unable to do it, but he'd be super-distraught that he couldn't help end the person's suffering.
Q. -New Android- has a precious item of memory, that is priceless to them. What is it, where did he/she get it, and why is it precious?
A. Before being boxed the New Android got a piece of data inserted into it together with a unique greeting to its next owner. The data is a fragment that can be combined with other New Android data fragments to reveal... Well... Something pretty darn awesome. So this piece of data is built-in priceless for the New Android. Though personally the New Android has a fair amount of fondness for the time it got unboxed and turned on for the second time. Looking into the big brown eyes of a seven year old girl and uttering the pre-programmed greeting watching the little girls squeal with glee.
Q. -New Android- gets caught doing something when they are a child. What is it they are caught doing?
A. She gets caught stealing parts she likes from home appliances and other machines, rendering them useless.

Q. -Mechanic- is at the hospital and someone important to them is in agony, kept alive by life support. The important person asks -Mechanic- to pull the plug, effectively ending the important person's life. What would -Mechanic- do, and why?
A. -Mechanic- would refuse, and would ask this person to hold on a little longer. He is trying to find a cure/getting money to pay for the treatment, and he hasn't given up yet.
Q. -Mechanic- sees a twenty dollar bill fall out of a stranger's pocket. No one is around to witness it except -Mechanic-, and the stranger is oblivious to the missing money. What does -Mechanic- do, and why?
A. He waits and observes, to see what others will do. He will make note of whatever passerby picks up the money and what they do with it, and then say "hmmmm...." as he processes the situation. And then he will promptly put it behind him and continue his musings on whatever mechanical quandary has vexed him of late.
Q. -Mechanic- loses his/her bathing suit while swimming in the ocean near a beach. What does the -Mechanic- do and why?
A. He would observe the likelihood of being seen naked, calculate the distance to his towel on the beach, and if the risk value was too high, swim along the coast until he could exit modestly without causing a scene. From there, he would find a clothes line, steal something to cover him, and express post the stolen clothing after having them cleaned and folded with a little "thank you" note.
Q. -Mechanic- gets caught doing something when they are a child. What is it they are caught doing?
A. Mechanic is caught dismantling the television remote and using the pieces to assemble a crude laserbeam.
Q. -Mechanic- gets caught doing something when they are a child. What is it they are caught doing?
A. I'd imagine, being technically minded, taking apart some piece of household equipment, like a TV/Washer etc, and using it's parts to make some kind of power-armor or a robot. Something dangerous.
Q. -Mechanic- sees a turtle turned over on its back, across a river. In order to help, -Character- will have to get wet. Does he/she help? Why or why not?
A. Mechanic would check to see if anyone's around to see him. Then cross the river, get wet and study the helpless turtle for a while. While doing so and if he happened upon the raw materials he'd craft a makeshift gyro stabilizer for the turtle so in the future the turtle wouldn't have to worry about turning around. Then he'd flip the turtle over and go away. Never saying a word about this incident to anyone.
Q. -Mechanic- has a precious item of memory, that is priceless to them. What is it, where did he/she get it, and why is it precious?
A. He owns a locket with a picture of his dead wife in it. It was an anniversary gift, and is the only picture that remains of her after that fire that took her life.

A. People reading signs out loud, people touching her hair and bugs.
Q. -Cool Flower- has a precious item of memory, that is priceless to them. What is it, where did he/she get it, and why is it precious?
A.It is an ancient Star Map. If the group can find the planet where the star map lines up with the constellations, they will reveal something wonderous.
She discovered it when she was a slave working an excavation dig on the planet Gref IV (a planet that was once home to a powerful race of aliens, but are now extinct). She carefully hid the starmap datacube in her bosom and has kept it close to her chest ever since. At first, she didn't even know what it was but it looked precious. She figured out what it was *somehow* (perhaps an old databank somewhere?)
Q. -Cool Flower- sees a turtle turned over on its back, across a river. In order to help, -Cool Flower- will have to get wet. Does he/she help? Why or why not?
A. She would probably laugh if there was someone nearby, just to keep up appearances. Though, if she were alone she would make a quick job of crossing the river to help. She would also tell the turtle that if anyone found out about this, she'd flip him over again.
Q. -Cool Flower- sees a twenty dollar bill fall out of a stranger's pocket. No one is around to witness it except -Cool Flower-, and the stranger is oblivious to the missing money. What does -Cool Flower- do, and why?
A. She keeps it, obviously. Stylish clothes won't pay for themselves, and after all, she was paying closer attention than you were. If confronted, she would point out that she's lost money before and it all balances out; finders keepers.
Q. -Cool Flower- sees a twenty dollar bill fall out of a stranger's pocket. No one is around to witness it except -Cool Flower-, and the stranger is oblivious to the missing money. What does -Cool Flower- do, and why?
A. I imagine she picks it up, because she's streetwise :P But instead of keeping it for herself (she can rely on herself, she doesn't need handouts, even accidental ones) she gives it to a homeless orphan or a starving family she passes by on her walks through some mean streets.
Q. -Cool Flower- is at the hospital and someone important to them is in agony, kept alive by life support. The important person asks -Cool Flower- to pull the plug, effectively ending the important person's life. What would -Cool Flower- do, and why?
A. Despite the Cool Flower's cool exterior she is very protective of life. Unless it's herbivore life of course. Though it'd be a rare occasion that Cool Flower would befriend a herbivore closely she would not hesitate to pull the plug on such a person if he/she asked it. For an omnivore it'd take a lot more agonizing and the person in agony would really have to plead hard. However Cool Flower's traditional upbringing have not managed to remove the fundamental idea that all carnivore life is sacred and that such a life should always try to be saved rather than taken.

A. She would try to cover herself a little however she cans. Pretending nothing has happened, and trying to get away all dignified and stoical. After all she's not ashamed of her body, and everyone knows they'll be dead if they stare.

A. Despite the Cool Flower's cool exterior she is very protective of life. Unless it's herbivore life of course. Though it'd be a rare occasion that Cool Flower would befriend a herbivore closely she would not hesitate to pull the plug on such a person if he/she asked it. For an omnivore it'd take a lot more agonizing and the person in agony would really have to plead hard. However Cool Flower's traditional upbringing have not managed to remove the fundamental idea that all carnivore life is sacred and that such a life should always try to be saved rather than taken.

He has been known to storm out of restaurant where they serve Q.
Thirdly Drunk Dog is immensely annoyed by racists/speciests. Having spent his time on the streets with all manner of people and having met all kinds of groups in his life he never turns down an opportunity to beat up a xenophobic sentient. A. -Brave Cactus- will do anything to help those in need. But being a cactus, his body absorbs water, and his skin cells burst when they get full. He may get swollen, all spongy and his strength will not return for days, but he'll take the risk and cross the river without hesitation.

A. The Brave Cactus bravely dives into the water looking for his bathing suit but finding that the suit has been taken by a giant octopus which he has to fight. However upon closing in on the octopus he finds that the octopus needs the bathing suit to tend a wound to one of its children. The Brave Cactus however have already hurt the octopus a bit and is at loss as for what to do now.
At this time he has to move up to the surface for air and quickly considers his options. He dives back in to parlay with the octopus and make sure it is alright and to tell it it can keep the bathing suit. However upon going down again all that remains is a bloodstained ink cloud in the water. The Brave Cactus goes up the surface again unknowing if the octopus made it and without his bathing suit.

A. His more-or-less lucky knife. It's a simple small knife his old buddy -Brave cactus- gave to him a long time ago, back when he still had money. He normally uses his guns, but his lucky knife already saved his back several times when his life (Or a friend's) depended on it, and it has never failed. However, it is known for almost certainly fail when used in a non life-threating situations, like cutting bread for breakfest.

This thread rocks! ...Your drawing is very good, Yuhikaru! Despite their simple poses the characters are drawn in a more personal style. I mainly tried to copy the originals xP I also like more the sizes you gave to every one of them.
Now some thoughts and my votes: (I suppose I can't vote for my own names, right? xD)
New Robot: I like the idea of new robot being a girl, even thought genders don't really apply to robots, the team needs more girls. xP I vote for B-32
Mechanic: I love how recurrent is the idea of taking parts from things, like Tv's and stuff, We aren't very creative, are we? xD I vote for Maxwell
Cool flower: Interesting character, no doubt. Do I notice attempts to name her like the autor? Varsha-lia, V-Azalea, xD I guess I'll vote for Narcissa
Drunk Dog: Whoa! there are a lot of B's in the proposed names. I wonder if that means something or is just a coincidence. I vote for Bob Bobson
Brave Cactus: I didn't know cactus could get over-watered. xD That's gonna be a funny to draw downside of this character. I vote for Geronimo
Dumb Cat: If I had known he was from an aristocrat family, I would have aimed for a more "classic" detective design. xP I like Inspector Gatteau
Bounty Hunter: Heh; I really don't know what to say about this character. I don't like him. But maybe time will change that. I vote for Blake Seam

I just realised that brave cactus is basically a desert Deku Scrub.
Wow, I didn't think of that... I thought Birdo first. I like deku scrubs more than birdo, so that's great xD
But it is funny how it ended up he can get overwatered (It's true! I killed one this way) and go fight the giant octopus.
I'll vote on one of my names (I love it), if it's too antiethical, just ignore it xP
