Starting out as a carefree fool, Cristophe Deveraux never expected his career as a monster hunter to turn into more than just a livelihood. With his smart-aleck cousin Carolyn as partner, they battled various monsters, solving supernatural quests that were way beyond their academical know-how.

Along the course of adventure, Cristophe and Carolyn made friends with some extraordinary people: Robert Chandler, a ranger trying to make peace with his past; Paolo Marvellini, a dwarf priest struggling to protect his family from the conspiracy around him; and many more heroes in the land, all with their unique personalities, abilites (and problems).

As finale, all those heroes were pitted together in an ultimate quest to prevent the return of Vordac the Dark OverLord - an ancient evil whose soul was sealed inside the godly sword, Deathblade Kraal'shazar.

Will the heroes stop Vordac for good? Will they become the prophesied Paladins of Legend who hinder the ultimate evil from plaguing the good, magical world of Terra Everna? In this game episode, FireHeart Saga - the Third Cycle begins.

Come forth, Paladins! Fulfill your destiny!

Wow I completely missed seeing this game coming through the site until someone pointed it out to me in IRC. This is looking very slick!
Nah, it's actually new here because i followed a guy in the other forum and posted it here.
I thought the game has no downloads at first. You should put a link in the download section, instead of putting it in the game details, which is unnecessarily too long. Just cut the unimportant parts. And the game itself looks promising, considering that this is your very first game.
ok, i've done that. thankx for your inputs, 656.
as for the detailed game overview, i've put all of that in the blog section.
This looks like it could be a lot of fun, I'll give it a try.
After you hunt down 3 trolls what are you supposed to do? Also is there a way to help that poisoned Ralph. Also is there way out of hotspot cave?
after u defeated the 3rd troll, u're automatically redirected to varestine city to collect ur rewards, and a cutscene comes after...

u should prepare some mandrake extract and give him some. if u don't, there's an option to buy that stuff from Devon the Travelling Merchant fishing nearby first, then u can go back to Ralph again.

the hotspot cave is especially tricky, and the only way out is:
if u entered the cave for the 1st time and choose the center exit on the bottom. if not, well, that's where ur brain comes in. that's the exciting part, i daresay.
I really like the game, but one major problem. After rescuing Robert and giving Hulfred the kobalt ore, I'm supposed to leave the Inn and find Robert, but the game stops me from exiting the Inn! I can't fix this with rpg maker because the game is encrypted. Is there any way around this or am I stuck in the Inn forever?
what did the event say?
"I think we should go to Golden Ram Pub"
or
"We should check on Robert first?"

I've checked and tested the events again and found no bugs there (make sure u got the FINAL version because it's the bug from version 1.0 and I've fixed it).
Those events are set to "below characters", so u can pass on - as those are only reminders.

Or, another way: u can press F9 and set the switches: "robert is gone" to off and after going out from the inn set the switch "robert is found" to on.

This is only possible if you run the game from the RPG Maker itself.

It says "I think we should go to Golden Ram Pub first."
EDIT: Nevermind. I feel like an idiot for not realizing that you could simply ignore the warning and walk right out the door. My bad.

oh, yeah. i guess i forgot about that as i used so many f1-s in other rpgvx games and always run fireheart from my rpg maker vx - my bad.
the silence and float spells do not seem to be working properly
i dunno if i use float on anybody - maybe the monsters use it, but the silence thing - is that the bug in tankentai 3.3d by enu-kylock? i'm no scripter, so no way i could've known.
This is a good little game so far from what I have played, but it could still be a lot better. I have played 90 minutes into the game and just beat the rat quest. Here are my notes:

- I would pay for rat poison
- Variety of rats
- Rats need to poison you and do other things
- New village with rats in it (wandering around the first town after being in the first town seemed unthrilling)
- Bigger overworld (it is really cramped)
- More chests with less in them (1 chest would have 2 or 3 things in them)
- Shinny objects
- Kill rats then talk to the lady at the guild resets the rats
- Elemental druids should have used elemental magic instead
- Invisible storage chest in storage house (when you open it)
- various minor glitches
- Man at the Inn can walk through walls
- Mortal Kombat music?
- Have the rat king drain all of your mana before the battle or have him heal himself
- There should be a treasure room in the rat king's place
--- with a note that explains the rat king and why he did it

I know this is your game, but I would like to donate maps to improve it. You already use the Enterbrain maps, so why not use my original ones? I do not even care about credit.
Uggg... I found the cheapest death in the game. Don't go into the wrong building in the second town, or you're automatically dead. Cheap death, and made me waste at least an hour of my time, because I didn't save.

To prevent people like me from not saving, perhaps those health crystals should also open the save menu?
ew i just read in the rmn notes that ppl don't like cheap deaths - although it's quite realistic.
also don't talk to the hooded man in the upper right in alceste - it's maclair who'll give you instant death.

health crystals open the save menu, good idea. but i'm also sticking into free save access all the time.

rat quest - i also have a note:
- rat poison ain't kill giant rats.
- the yoga-guru wall-walking-through man in the inn is placed there on purpose
- i'm collecting more glitches and bugs and improving the final version if i have time...
- donations are surely welcome, but i'll use it in other games and (perhaps) fireheart 2
- i can't compose my own music and don't have access to free music by ppl, so i used whatever i could find... even mortal kombat

thx dudes

oh, an update:
i just viewed maia's map. sadly, i can't extend the lore map as it won't be "england-like" anymore, but i shall surely use your village maps for fireheart 1 and/or 2 project in a different quest (and different "pest"). thx again 4 the effort, i'll make sure it'll worth ur while.

rat king = the story of "pied piper" continued.
INSTANT DEATHS
Games = not real
Not real = fun!
Fighting = games
Instant Death = not real

Give the player a chance and it would be good instead of an instant death. That would make it fun.

The only worse thing that I could imagine would be having a player fight against an enemy that can never be killed no matter what! Then it would be a waste of time :-) I only mention it, because I've made literally undefeatable bosses.

SAVE CRYSTALS
- of course, keep it free save all the time, but force open the save menu at crystals.

RAT QUEST
- I would pay money to get single use items that would damage all enemies. Hence where the rat poison came from. Maybe not rat poison, but an item that would damage all enemies.

YOGA
- Walking through walls unless he's a ghost just makes it look like a flaw.

MUSIC
- A better choice of music that comes with RPG Maker VX would be a great idea.

I have more ideas in notes and I will post those right now.
I played an hour more and got further, because I didn't fall prey to instant deaths. Here are more notes. They are notes that everyone could bennefit from.

- Diversify enemies
--- kobolds need kobold mages, ugly kobolds, kobold warriors, kobold workers
- Seeds to improve
--- I notice you did do salves, but the player should just find some randomly. It helps the player feel like they contribute to making their character unique.
- A'bong and other bosses should be immune to status effects unless it is part of the strategy. Like a sleepy guard captain or a monster that loves beautiful women is easily charmed.
- Caves need more atmosphere like darkness, music and sound effects
- Scorpions should poison and give antidotes
--- how about they use whiplashes and tail lashes?
- Diversify enemies again, instead of having just scorpions... have spiders, bats, crazy warlocks
- Change wall cracks, because you can go through them
- Mimic should be tougher given where it is
- There's a house that puts you back outside
- Second major area feels very incomplete with signs that do not work
- Third town doesn't have shops, it has people in front of doors
- Messed up trees in Arkvale Village (lower left corner)
