Welcome! For those new to this project, Master of the Wind is a superhero game which takes place in the fantasy world of Solest. It is a story told in seven chapters, referred to as "arcs."

Cade Mistral and his best friend, a skeleton named "Bones," work as armor merchants in the beautiful seaside town of Port Arianna. Unbeknownst to the townsfolk, Cade also protects them as the spear-wielding wind mage known as Shroud. Bones joins him as Stoic, a mighty undead warrior who has lived through roughly one thousand years of history.

The story begins with our heroes keeping their fellow citizens safe from smaller threats like robbers or the occasional vampire. However, when larger and more organized foes begin to descend on their humble home, our heroes realize they are in for more than they bargained for. They will have to make new friends, confront deadly foes, and travel all over the world to deliver justice once and for all.

Welcome Back, Bros (and Gals)!

Solest Games is now live!

It took almost a year, but Solest Games is finally back. For those who weren’t around, the site was hacked last summer and we lost EVERYTHING! Years of articles…gone. It was depressing at the time, but it opened up the opportunity to give the site a fresh, modern look.

The site now has a sleek, more mobile friendly design. Most of the page content is the same, with the addition of a Books section that Volrath will be updating. You can still find the downloads for all our games on here.

We’re still making some final tweaks, but this is more or less the finished product. With the new site, I’ll be producing new content on a fairly regular basis. Our Mailchimp account was de-activated so if you were a subscriber you’ll have to sign up again if you want to receive updates. We have a few projects in the works so you’ll definitely want to do that!

If you have any feedback on the site or run into any issues, please leave a comment or contact us directly. Thanks for sticking it out with us!

First i must apologize for my very bad English, however i liked this game so much, that i couldn't mentioned the flaws.
this is a very good game. so don't think i didn't enjoy the game, i had a lot of fun. but somethings seems wrong
i played a lot of rpg games, from ff 1-12, gothic, risen, dragon age, wizardry 7,8 and a lot more.
in my opinion there are some serious mistakes in this game.

1- The battle system dose not have anything special except it look very cool, most skills seems useless, for example when status effects last for 3 or 4 turn why someone should use b-bone intensity? Why should i use knee smash? Sleeping gas and Nuclear blast have the same damage, same cost, however one have status effects too. There are a lot of such skills. you simply use group attack skills all the time, if any one survived, use auto battle, heal afterward, then repeat.

You worked so hard for this game, But didn't bother with battle system? its very strange.

2- When i first started the game, i said man this is epic, this is very good. however as i played more, it seemed, some clever writer was bored and wanted to finish this as fast as he could. So, he just glue things together, in the end i was just wanted to finish the game, i was tired.

3- Mini games, why for Arcadia sake you had so much mini games? don't get me wrong the mini games were fun and well designed, however i must not finish 200 mini games to advance the plot, you should know as well as every one else not every one like to play mini games, it is a big mistake to force everyone to play every mini games,

4- Puzzles, its very important to have variety of puzzles not only memory puzzles, there were some other type of puzzles but not that much, it was all about your memory, if you remember then you are winner, sadly i am very weak in this aspect. If you want someone absolutely read the history of your world, you should not force them to remember names, you should force them to understand the concepts, They should learn about history to learn how the world worked, in this realm, its not important who actually did this things, forget about your history exams in real life. For example, instead of asking, what minator learned from his grandfather, you asked what was his grandfather name, instead of asking what inspired Dalton to name his child after Sylvia, you asked what was her Last name. It was sad that even developers didn't care about history of their own game. or maybe i am wrong, i hope i am.

5- There was nearly no side quest, i dunno why, this game have a lot of potential for side quests but at the end, there was only very minor side quests, instead of adding "back stories" to the "main story", you could make side quests that cover most of them (except b-bone he is too important, because he "know all"). I guess it was because of fear, developers thinking, if players don't know this side stories, they won't love the characters, but if you create your characters and give them life, people will track all side quest and side stories, because they want to" know all" too. Don't get me wrong, i was very attached to characters in this game, i loved every one of them. But its the matter of choices; if someone want to learn that skill, he must do that side quest. Lack of optional super boss, was another important subject, that's why people replay a game, they are easy to add they add flavor to the game. you also added crafting but you forget about material hunting, you can buy every material with money. except elements witch are one of a kind anyway.

7- The most annoying part is that you can't travel, you don't chose, you just follow the story. character have schedule and player must follow it exactly, the world map is what i was hoping for, all the time. sadly i didn't get it.

conclusion: RPG is all about choices, if you can't chose you are not playing RPG, you are playing a novel. this is why i only play strategy and rpg games, since i can chose, i can develop my character, i can chose to equip that weak armor, because it gives ME awesome strength, or i can chose to give my Mage a plate armor also MY intelligence will be lowered; adding such a simple choices will give the player, some sense of control over his character. I can chose to back track to x dungeon, so i can find all of its secret; adding a world map or any other means of free traveling, give the player sense of freedom. this game was a lot like FPS rather than a RPG, RPG is not only about leveling up and equipping the best armor possible, this is what happens in shooter games you chose the best gun and you shoot the hell out of everyone.

again i apologize for lack of English knowledge. i tried a lot to make this post readable. you guys can be great game designer, better start it now than latter ;).
i also apologize for not pointing out the good things, however i have a habit to criticize good things, because they can be better.
thanks for reading this, hmm well if you can read it.
Hey Pheadona, I'm not sure if you've found this solution already (oh my goodness, it's been a month, why am I even posting), but if not: Make sure you've talked to everyone on board at least twice before trying to sleep. I had some trouble with that bit too.
I am thoroughly enjoying the game, but I am cannot progress because I cannot get the hero to sleep in the bed under the map, while on board the boat. I've tried everything, even the other beds, he simply stays awake!!! Any suggestions?
Right after starting the game, after the room with the fairy, the sound goes batshit insane, and is impossible to listen to without getting a headache. I think I've copied the BGM folder properly.. \MotW Complete\Audio\. If I remove the BGM folder, there is no sound at all.
Any advice?

I'm so far in ArcVII and and i can't seem to find out the answer of 2nd question to the fairy quiz from the Hall of history. I believe the answer should be related to the Solendian Knighhood, but i can't find the city's name in Hall of history.

I've desperately tried all geographical names mentioned in Hall of history, but none of them is the right answer. Where on Solest is the clue?
I enjoy playing MotW and i think it shines because of its storyline and puzzles(especially Golem puzzle and Vampire puzzles. Such genuis to make something like these). Many hidden treasures to find makes it more fun too(especially i love the ones hidden in the sewer). The only thing I hate is my own problem. As you may judge from my writing style, I'm not a native English speaker(actually i'm from Asia), and my english isn't good enough to catch up the speed of the dialogues when sometimes the scenario is auto-running.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I'm glad to see people are still enjoying the game.

I think i wont be wrong in saying that me and most other fans would like to see a sequel or perhaps an expansion along the lines of FF: The After Years in the future. I hope that you guys really do consider it.

There is a spiritual successor to MotW in the works. It's called Legacy you can find more info about it on our forums. Production is currently on hold while we focus on our latest project X-Noir.

I finally beat this epic game, and, sadly enough, I don't feel that sense of satisfaction at all when you beat a game, in fact, I feel quite sad. Sad that something this great is over. The completion of this game has created a void in my heart no other can fill...

Grand work Volrath and Artbane, looking out for your new projects!

Couldn't find a better way to explain my feelings about this game. I had to wait a whole month before a new RPG could come into my hands... You created the first game, exception made for FFVIII that I played 3times in a row not to forget it in my youth days, that made me sad about beginning a new one.
Brilliant! Just Brilliant! I just finished playing it through and i have to say, its much better than many of the SNES and PSX RPG's i used to play back in the day. Definitely the best RPG maker game so far in my opinion. I hope that you guys really do consider it.
First off, the story is top notch. The character development is superb.

However, I've run into a snag in the Relenia dungeon. I can't seem to get past the 2nd and 3rd skull retrieval mini games. When I make it to the 3rd mini game I can't get past the last three mice. I've tried the easy version with no success.

Some of these mini games can drive a player nuts.

Do you have any suggestions?

EDIT: I've also posted this question at Help with Relenia Prison Dungeon Topic
This is my favourite rm game :) I liked the story and it's atmosphere. It's so cool! Unfortunately I haven't had enough time to play through the last Arc...
Unfortunately, no. Most of the walkthroughs skew towards the earlier arcs. We'd love it if someone made one!
Aww, i just hope that someone upload them in parts :)
Anyone got alternate link for this?
Could you please tell me the bell sequence baron has to shoot? ok found the solution above in a comment,thanks...great game
You won't regret it, man - the soundtrack is simply amazing and the gameplay is over-the-top awesome.

Amazing Midi soundtracks can be amazing, too.
The point is: I just CAN'T download 500 MB with my poor internet connection. No matter, if I want or not.
Good to hear, I look forward to X-Noir and Legacy! It's good to see one can keep doing this after making a full-length game.
Wow, that's quite the compliment! Hope you recover in time. But if not we do have a new project in the works. Hoping to have a demo ready soon.
