Cancelling project due to lost save data.

Last week my pc was inffected by a virus or trojan, I don't which one I had but it destoryed the content of my Hard disk that I wasn't able save anything and yes I am an idiot to no have made back up saved on a usb... I will curse forever myselg about that.

Now, I lost all my projects and more that I had.
So I can only say: I am sorry, I have to cancel this project with Bloody Rose forever.

Searching a new map layout for Chibi Dungeon: try 1

Hello,

How are you guys ?
Today a little WIP, I'm tryng to find a new mapping layout for Chibi Dungeon.
At the moment is kinda raw since I'm gathering ideas.



I still want to keep small room.
But I can't keep the rooms "hidden" like in the alpha demo because Mr Trivel told me that once you reveal a region with a switch, it will work for all the maps!
So I'm going to keep the limited sight of view and instead will try to add another effect of when you discover a room.
I already tried it and it works but the rooms are still boring if I keep the normal RTP layout so instead I'm trying to give some kind of depth.

Problem n°1, I will have to make presets for different of rooms in Photoshop so the maps won't be flexible if I need to correct some mapping errors.
Problems n°2, the effect I want to add may not work well with parallax (+big maps) and only woks with "characters" and everybody knows that putting too much events on map can make it lags.

Problem n°1 is what bother me the most yet I know the result will worth it but parallax is time consuming and not flexible. Chibi Dungeon is not supposed to consume my time, lol

So I'm still brain storming, I like the idea I found today, though.

Yeah the limited line of sight (dark surrounding hero) is missing since it's just a test.

Back from summer break



Hello,

How are you ?

I'm sorry to have not notify you about my summer break that I took early since jun but I kinda burned myself because I made multiple mistakes while during making Chibi dungeons that I hade to restart from scrath in new project because I had incompatibiltiies problems that I couldn't get ride off.

So I satrted to re-do it like you saw in my previous news then I blanked out, litteraly, I had the problem of the white page where you don't know why you can't fill it. Also the heat didn't helped me. And no, I didn't made any good memories during this summer so I could slack off, lol. So, I kinda stayed away from Rpg maker during all this time.

Fall is approching and seems that the weather cooling down is helping me to gather my though again. I shall resume soon (I hope) the work on Chibi Dungeon.

Dev blog : part 4

Hi,

How are you guys ?
I am fine, today there is no video since what I did are really minor tweaks because I'm polishing the HUD as much as I can.

I added 3 news features, that will make your life a little more confortable:
- autobattle (binded by a keyboard key) - inspired by Etrian odyssey Serie (3DS)
- Scan (binded by a keyboard key) - inspired by Etrian odyssey Serie (3DS)
- Battle advices - inspired by GrandBlue Fantasy (mobile game)



A) Autobattle is not yet 100% operational/efficient. I hope Quasi and me will be able to get through it soon.




B) I still didn't worked on the "scan" window, so no preview for now.

C) I started to work on Battle advices. Thanks to DreamX to have gave me the script calls.


Things that need to done:
- Fix autobattle
- Make the background image for "scan" and "battle result" window.
- Make my own custom battle fonts.
- Change heroes position

Hello guys,

How are you ?
This is a random post blog about my feeling as "game dev" because I had an experience who made me remember one of the few reason why my previous project : Bloody Rose has gone on break for a long time.

I won't deny what I wrote over there as my last message.
But I forgot to say that there were other reasons even if 90% is my fault why the project has gone on break until I gather more experience.

One of the reasons are the loneliness and be powerless.
Loneliness because even if people tell you your project is pretty, they will be actually almost none who will lend you a hand when you're in need. Or worse, there will be none who give a smile at least.

The feeling of being powerless... I have tried so hard to make Bloody Rose SBS similar to the default Rpg maker Mv SBS... hahaa... isn't it funny ? I passed like 2 years spaming forums to ask for help "please help me make a simple SBS that "works". In the end I even had to commission coders because almost none were willing to help me freely.

I became lonely to fight alone : "no, I don't want to abondon my project, I can save it if I spend money on it at least" and "Please mister, I help me. I know my project script list is ugly but I tried my best to save it!".

Of course they were many passerby helpers who came to temporaly help me and I will never foget them but I still ended alone.

After 2 years of running after scripters to have a decent SBS and menu, I kinda ran out of passion/breath for Bloody Rose... Reviving this feeling even temporaly is sad.

If I could draw you a picture of my experience with Bloody rose, it would be : me, on the road, in the dark, with many candles lighten along the way. But it's still dark.

So I really appreciate that some of you gave a chance to me and this new project because I'm trying to "fall in love again" with game making.

I managed to finish 95% of my battle HUD.
Understanding how a plugin work consume so much my time, lol.



I also changed the title screen and the battle music.
Last big thing I need to do is to make the Battle Result "window" and I have no idea how I will make it XD

Today, I continued to setup my HUD for my battle system.
That's something I should have finished weeks ago but I was
focused for an unknow reason on the skills, lol



So there isn't really anything flashy to see.
It's just me using Moghunter Battle HUD plugin and inputing
numbers mostly.

Dev blog : part 1

I started today to "transfer" my data.

I decided to record my WIP, take it like a video blog-ish.
Also bear with me, I never used a video editor so I did my best to do something "decent".
I hope I will get better with time.



The "bug" at the end of the video wasn't a bug in the end.
I forgot to check the plugin setting of Class Change core.
Thanks to Yanfly guidance, I was able to change the right setting that allowed my characters to share all skills.


Why did you started a new project ? Didn't you had your tech demo ?
I did and I still has it like you will see in the video.
But the tech demo suffered the bug that you saw in the ending of my video.
I though at that moment (this morning for me in France) that my project was corrupted for some reason so I decided to start over.
Yeah, I'm a clumsy noob, lol

But it's okay, starting in fresh project isn't a bad thing either.
It will give me the opportunity to be more organized.


What's the point for me to watch your video ?
Nothing really, it's like a blog.
I'm re-starting the game to make a "clean install".
Making a video blog is for me and you a proof, that I'm still motivated.
Because we all know how easy is to not be motivated anymore for unknow reason while making a game.


Why don't you have a microphone instead of writing ?

Hello,

How are you guys ?
This week, there will be no news because I've been testing some plugins that've commissionned. Nothing really fancy, just some small tweaks.
From an unknow reason the plugins work fine in a new demo but not in my main project.

So I will have probably to transfer my data to that new demo that hold by battle system.

I will take it as a chance to see what I will really want to keep and see what plugins don't really work with each other. It will be like to do a little housekeeping.

Coming up in next update - misc : Titles

Everything began with last messages of BlancIX and HikiNeet messages. Yes, like a noob I didn't checked who was Acquire company, lol. They got me curious and I wonderer if they had more heroes that I could use in my game.

Unfortunaly, Acquire mobile game, Rood to Dragons only has battlers and no portraits...

Still, I got hyped because they had the evolution of Junta class!!! O(≧▽≦)O

I was like "OMG! I want this!!

Problem n°1 : I can't sprite
That means, no battler or in game game character to follow the evolution.

Problem n°2 : I don't know how to draw
So no, portrait to fit the evolution

Problem n°3 : I don't have a lot of money
I can't commission someone to sprite or draw all the 4 heroes with their 4 evolutions.

Hype deflated...


But I'm stuborn, I think that's too cool for me to not use them.

My first idea is to make different class for Junta where those pictures would appear but more I tried to make something interesting and more I encountered problems.


But didn't Yandly made a plugin to change class ?
Yes, but I didn't find any option that let you carry over some selected skills to your new class. What would be the point to level the same branch class if you can't you for example : swordman skills with Berserker skills ?

I searched a lot of time, even tried Yanfly learn skill plugin but it was the same as above, then I came accross MoggleX equip skills slot.


What's does that new plugin do ?
It let you setup a number of skill that you can equip on your heores like in Devil Survivor. But the problem, is the number of slots per type of skill is limited.

For example : I've 6 swordman skills and 4 Berserker skills.
I can't tell the plugin (unless I missed something) to let me equip skills from them.
No the plugin want me to setup a number of slot for my Swordman skill first then for my Berserker Skills. That means I can't freely use any slot to put any of skills for Junta.


So you ended up with Titles ?
Yes, I made something more simple. I still use Yanfly plugin change class but I renamed titles.
Titles will work like in Tales of games serie.
They will give you boost in stats.
You will still learn normaly skills class while leveling.

BUT! I will try to make titles a little more interesting.
When you learn a titles you will gain some passives buffs.
I'm not sure what yet, lol.

Anyway, it took me the wole day yesterday to come to that conclusion. Understanding how the plugins work consummed a lot of my time (I tried more than those just 2-3 plugins.

Here's a sneak peak of the Titles window, nothing fancy here and I still need to change a lot of things, for example : the window skin to match with my menu.
