"When the creator's child returns, evil will return with her."
Current download is over seven years old! Take care when playing!

When strange company comes to the city of Windfield, Princess Vera Casteline finds herself torn from her home -- taken only partially against her will by a fledgling thief. On the other side of the castle walls, however, she finds she is the target of the immense Church of Lovia, led in their crusade by the holy book of the Grimoire. Little does she know that there is more to what is happening than she sees at first glance.

Originally released incomplete in 2005 for Gaming World's Release Something Else!, Sagawind is currently being redone and completed for an undetermined release date.

- Fast-paced Active Battle System: React quickly to lead your party to victory.
- Multiple difficulty levels: Play for the story or challenge yourself with tougher enemies.
- Day/Night system: NPCs and monster encounters change dynamically with the passage of day and night.

Sagawind is split up into six distinct chapters, the first two featuring two different protagonists, with the final four bringing the two together.

- Chapter 1: Leaving Home
- Chapter 2: She Calls Across the Sky
- Chapter 3: Together Traveling the Path
- Chapter 4: Fall of the Creator's Child
- Chapter 5: Love's Truth
- Chapter 6: Return of the Moon's Death

Progress? Say it ain't so.

When I don't change the status of the game to "Cancelled," there's a reason for that. Because it's not. Even if I only come around here once a year it seems.

First off, I wanna thank the people who contributed things to Media Madness Month for Sagawind. I honestly didn't expect anything (I didn't even know it existed lol) due to a) not being around and b) it's a decade-old game with a horrible demo and in an outdated engine. But, still, you guys surprise me again and again. So thanks, I mean it.

I was actually streaming working today and I actually got past most of my mapping block by basically telling myself "make it pretty later." So... even though Windfield Castle isn't DONE done, the places where story take place are, even if they're not particularly pretty. I kinda blame BadLuck and just how pretty he made Ara Fell with FirstSeedMaterial's stuff for my hankering to make the maps as pretty as possible, even if they aren't nature setting like Ara Fell.

So we're up to my next roadblock of dungeon design. I don't wanna push it TOO far being the "first" dungeon that's not a tutorial, but I don't wanna make it mind-numbingly easy either. Once I get past that, then... actually, I think other than mapping, I'm home-clear for Chapter 1, besides MAYBE more dungeon design (there's at least six more besides the two in existence right now).

Perhaps... once I get past the Cape Lighthouse for reals, I'll release another demo. It's definitely chock full of more stuff than the RSE demo, that's for freakin' sure.

Just so you know, your 2004 RSE demo is busted with a loop in the intro.
Problem fixed and a new .rar uploaded. The start location was in the wrong place. The VERY wrong place.
So far, so good. Does the demo end after one gets the rusty key? I got it and went through the forest but now every exit seems blocked.
2004? You sure it's been that long? I thought it was 2005.
So you are correct. Ironic how I get it wrong here, yet get it right elsewhere. Also:

*surprise anyone looks at this anymore*
I'd completely forgotten that I commented here. And what's to be surprised about, trance? Sagawind has always been the RPG Maker game I've been most interested in.
You better not be dead.
My contact info is in my profile if you need me to be not dead. :3

Hm yeah I wonder where trance went...
Oh hey, people commented on it.

Hai guys.

Not KIA, just MIA. Been trying to juggle school, NaNoWriMo, and this for this month. Found a nice desktop progress bar! It might help... That and more time. Which I will have for the remainder of the semester!

Uhhh... Nothing really else to say, I guess. <.<;;
Why would you say that?
Would have been such a good game if the game didnt bug up when you get to the place in the forest where giles says to rest.

Found some more bugs like repeative events of that thief that appears. Maybe you should of invented switches.
Wow, I just saw this on the front-page and it took me WAY back. :D
