CloseRed Nova recently hosted a roast on his marvellous status page and I kind of knocked him around a bit so I thought I'd give him a chance to retaliate, as well as others to just generally make fun of me. To quote from his post:

For those that don't know, a roast is when you make fun of someone with a creative and witty joke. There's no picture of me for you to make fun of, so you'll have to try a little harder than the boring, playground bully insults. Think you can do it?
- I won't take anything said here personally. Do your worst.
- That being said, be funny. Thoughtless/uncreative insults will just be ignored and/or laughed at.
So let 'em at me! :)

Aw, that's really nice of you to invite me over like this, Cash! Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to top your performance. I haven't really mastered the art of roasting. I spend my time making well-received games instead.
I gotta say, I was pretty surprised you posted on my status. With the follow-through you've shown in writing your review of Soul Sunder, I thought'd it take you at least another year and a bunch of PMs begging me for help.
... Sorry. That was too harsh. I can't really talk down to someone with more Makerscore than me. Then again, if everyone put as much thought and effort into such memorable lines as, "... and his character arcs exist in a huge way," then no one would have under 5000 Makerscore.
I'll be honest: It took me so long to post here because I was trying to turn this entire post into a clever word puzzle for you to solve to find a multi-layered insult. However, I stopped when I realized I had put more effort into that post than you do in your art.
Hm... I just realized this entire post has been mostly about comparing you to me. In hindsight, that's pretty self-centered. I should probably ask for an outside opinion. Where's thatbennyguy and Loser? Can you put me in contact with them?

Haha! Looks like I definitely got roasted on this one - both literally by Sooz and with precise and cutting verbiage by Red. I guess it serves me right trying to have a comeback contest with an actual writer. As for my ego, I think it's strangely been boosted because I've had the privilege of being roasted by people I really like.
