Always do what is best for you. Starting a game is not some binding obligation that must be finished no matter the cost.

Be proud of what you made and continue creating :)

I haven't played but it's very possible you will lose players who have. There is always those who won't return after the time they have invested. But since your game is complete it's a lot more likely even if you lose those players it will be okay in the long run.

I say do it, if you like it more then the old way and be happy with your final product yourself always before the playerbase.

All the change means is giving a better experience to future players and something you're happy with. :)
