Ratty524 This is something I'm not sure on. Aside from a few exceptions, most people seem to just download Pom and leave, and those who often post reviews of it or comment in its game page tend to ONLY pay attention to pom and nothing else. It maybe gets people to acknowledge that the community exists, but just existing and actually being worth something to people are different. I just don't see the Pom userbase as anyone who would care about the community by and large.
people also just download my biggest games (10k+ downloads each) and then leave (and rehost them on random foreign sites... whatever). granted i'm barely over 20% of what Pom gets, but the fact remains that plenty of people come here solely for a game or two and then leave. that's totally normal for a download hub. are you telling me you join every community you download someting from? we'd be lucky if we got 1% of our daily visitors to join, probably.
BUT then we get people who do stay! there are people who never touch the forums but still contribute to the community, even, like me-patra herself (despite leaving), or shayako's thousand mini-reviews on game pages.
there's a reason that WIP wanted to axe the forums at one point. while i still don't agree with that, i totally get his desire for there to be less of a divide between the game profiles and the forums.
Honestly, I may not have agreed with your review but it's your review and it was written well and made your point with examples, which is really all we ask for when it comes to reviews, especially high/low scoring ones, so... I am glad that other reviewers felt different though, no offence.
