Can they really be called tweets anymore? What are they going to be called now? X's? O's?
Oh wait. I know what they'll be called.
Extinct.

Quick, rebrand the status section to Twitter now that the chance is open!
I think they're just called Posts and Reposts now, because uhh... Creative branding machine broke
Strak

Imagine giving up your site becoming a VERB in the broader public consciousness. What an idiot.

That was my initial thought too. Twitter and specifically "tweeting" had the power of "Kraft Dinner", "Dumpster" and "Super Glue". X doesn't even work phonetically. What absolute mental midgetry.
Like RPGs warned us about rich people. Who knew?
Can you guys just rmn me the details of what you're talking about
Last I heard, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter were going to be merged together into one big platform. It was going to be called YouTwitFace.
RMN's account with X!XX!X's Platform, or whatever it's actually called now, is defunct, so, it seems likely other accounts are defunct as well. I guess I'm just curious where (if anywhere) the non-zero number of users that used that platform as a vehicle for announcements of their own projects, or projects of other developers that they followed, are going should they find their accounts have gone into the internet equivalent of the aether.
I think we are all waiting to find out what the consensus replacement will be. BlueSky? Mastodon? Threads? Tumblr?
Threads is apparently somehow even more of a datamine than Facebook (if you trust Zuck at all by now then that's on you I guess). Mastodon is okay but its nature as segregated small spheres of "community" makes it unlikely as a replacement. BlueSky seems the most legitimate so far to me, but idk I really don't want to get back on a damn Twitter client. If BS manages to be some golden goose example of it then maybe.
Tumblr... Persists. But its a beast of its own.
