World's Dawn developer let's play

Hey everyone! Wow, it's been a long time O.O

I wanted to drop by because I'm returning to World's Dawn three years after release (!) for a developer let's play. I'll be going through a good chunk of the game with a friend and sharing behind-the-scenes stories, community comments, and laughs aplenty. I thought some fellow RM folks might be interested in how the project came together and why certain decisions were made, that sort of thing.

I've been going through a bit of a rough patch lately, so this cozy, casual series has been a good way to decompress and stay connected with other players and developers. If you think you might enjoy it, there are a few episodes up on YouTube already and more to come very soon! And please do let me know what you think. I've never recorded anything like this before, so feedback is certainly welcome.

Thanks all! I really appreciate the support this community has given me over the years.

Actually Kuronekox I've never know the guys here to be anything but fair and reasonable, and I've been around for about 7 years now. Still that's not relevant to this game page, though I'm sorry if you've had a bad experience.
These kinda games are popping up like crazy. I don't have any bad experiences with this site, and being here for not that long I really can't say. I only come here to post on game pages, sometimes the forums. I've never had official business with any mod or admin.

I actually am a forum moderator of the Wild Season Steam discussion forums and the official forums over there. I have noticed that there's that game, one by Chucklefish being made called Stardew Valley, and I have seen others on Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter. I plan to support them all regardless. This one is free at least, thankfully. :D

I'll go check out Stardew Valley, thanks for letting me know.
You're welcome.

I also would like to note I did make an account on here just to follow the game and try out other RPGs.

I cannot wait to try out the summer season

Hey Sagitar congratulations for getting the development spotlight.

Thanks! It was a really pleasant surprise to receive that notice from the site, and then go back and check the home page.

As always, thanks for supporting the project and doing more than your fair share to generate some buzz. Oh, and Stardew Valley looks amazing, I've been following that project for a long time! I love that these types of games are popping up all around lately -- otherwise it would pretty much just be Harvest Moon on its own.

And they're all different in their own way thankfully.
I've been waiting so long for this! It's really awesome, enjoying it so far, and thank god.. Harvest moon isn't exactly doing a good job right now... I'm still going to try to buy Animal Parade but that's off-topic!
I love getting drunk and passing out in the Midnight Tabern while talking to anyone i can just to see their reactions :P but i did had some problems...
1.- Running wastes your stamina which is kind of annoying since the town is rather big and walking it off just isn't my style..
2.-There should be more minigames, lockball is fun for a while but then you get all like "What now?"
But anyways, still happy for the release!
^ Thanks for the feedback! I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the game so far.

1) That's what horses are for! Which I know is a bad excuse if you don't like how running uses your stamina, but it's a great way to cut down on the energy you use every day.
2) I will put some thought into more minigames, although with a lot of unique events and festivals, my hands are pretty full. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just don't force people to do mini games besides at festivals and fun events in-game. :<
I'll keep that in mind! No forced mini-games.
I just now quit supporting Harvest Moon since Natsume were dumbasses and gave publishing rights to XSEED Games.

Welp, this game and a few others will make up for the loss.

Lets have some faith. It's all we can do... That or we keep playing HM back to nature/Friends of mineral town
*Sorry for the double post. My last replied was sent twice for some reason, so I decided to take this space for my next comment:

Found out it wasn't Natsume who did this, Marvelous has control over who gets to publish it, and they didn't choose Natsume.
I like it a lot. I can't wait for it to be completed!
Man, I am in love with this game XD honestly, This game pretty much sums up what I've always wanted in a harvest moon game. But cut short 3 seasons. XD

I love how you pay so closely to detail. The environment is so vibrant and detailed, and I love the shops, where the products are on the counters and they have the red tags so the player knows what they can buy. I know that's a very small thing but I just love it.

And, I also have a few questions. I do realize that this game is not finished, and the most obvious thing is the lack of seasons, but is there any other game-play related things that are going to be added/increased in the final (or upcoming versions of the game) such as bigger sized fields and barns, more clothes, etc. The game does have the "finished feel" to it, however I just wanted a heads-up on anything else (besides the seasons) that you are thinking or are going to add to the later versions. Thanks. And by no means do I want to add more work for you to do (I don't want the release date to be extended, The target date is 31/12/14 XD) I'm just excited for more, but I haven't seen a "to-do" list anywhere. (Maybe there should be one on the website for the game?)

Anyway, Sorry to take up some of your time, I just wanted to drop my feedback for this awesome game!
I like it so far too. I think the price of cows, chickens, and a horse is a bit much though unless you can earn money really easy or fast.
I'm glad you're all liking it! I worked hard (and continue to work hard) on this project and it's so great to see people finally being able to enjoy it.

Yes! The spring season is just a taste of what's to come. Expect a lot more unlockable content to be available in future seasons, including an upgraded house and barn, more outfits, more characters, and more festivals. You should basically just look at spring as the first chapter of the game, and later chapters will continue to add more and more content.

I hope you keep playing and thanks so much for your comments!

I'll take a look at this, however as you build up your farm it will become easier and easier to make money... so even if you can't afford all the cows/chicken/horse right away, there has to be something for you to work towards later on when you're raking in more coins.

Thanks again!
Yeah, I noticed working part time at jobs can get you money til you start building up your farm.

I also found all NPCs on day 7 (took me FOREVER to find the last person)... Buying crops also helps a ton as well and planting them
I don't want to sound too rude or pushy, but do you know (or an estimate) of when the summer bit is going to be relased? And if you do add a summer bit, does ths mean we will have to make a new save file?

Oh, and there is also this:

I'm pretty sure it's just a forgetful error, It happens XD and that one is in the town hall, and I think there are also some like those in the other buildings too, if I'm not mistaken
