This page is for showcasing and discussion of user-created content that is reasonably complete and ready for play.
(The old Custom Content thread with its 50 pages of discussion can be found here)

Players:
To add these to your game, in most cases you can extract the downloaded file to the game's main directory and you're set. Depending on how the author has organized them, it may be necessary to move files to the appropriate directories. (Custom content has not been tested by me).

As an alternative, players may visit the Official Custom Content blog (aka "OCC blog"), which links to a ZIP file that contains these files, and then some. In this case, the ZIP file may be extracted to your main directory.

Note: After new content has been added, old saves won't be compatible.

Hello Heartbreak Community!

Surprise! I first downloaded this game about a month ago and for the last 17 days have been hard at work on a new custom character. I don't like making empty promises, so that's why this project has been kept secret. Therefore it is now my pleasure to introduce you to Robin Clark, an American Transfer Student! Her ID tag is 100 (Yes, it works perfectly well, I didn't wanna step on any reserved toes.) I really hope you enjoy it.

I know very little about this genre, and they say "Write what you know" and thus, she's American. It also doesn't help that I know very little about this genre and terms like tsundere and yandere have to be looked up, none-the-less, I suspect that you won't be disappointed with this custom story (Or at least I hope so). It is finished content, but the perfectionist in me would argue it's also unfinished. Definitely in need of play-testing by more people than just me. If you have any corrections, comments, (reviews!), or anything else, feel free to message me!

Below I gab some more about some of my goals in making Robin:

So I had several goals in creating Robin aside from just finishing a story, some I think I met and some I think I've yet to reach.
1. Dynamic Characterization: Robin, being a transfer student from overseas, starts as a rather shy girl, and opens up over time to you and others in game. From there, her characterization can go several different ways, depending on...

2. Player Choice: I wanted to make player choice matter in more ways than just affection up/down or succeed/fail, granted I use these, but you may also find that you'll see different scenes based on what choices you make in game.

3. Consistency: This story relies heavily on Miki and Keika and they are characters I haven't written, so in my stories about Robin their characters have to be consistent to what the player experiences with their Built-In stories.

4. Integration: Originally one of my goals was to have Robin play like she was a Built-In character. After having worked on her for awhile and exploring the Built-In Story files, this goal became harder and harder to attain to, still though, the effort is there.

5. Fun: With any luck players will really enjoy Robin's character, the things she'll say or do at a moment's notice.

6. DA FEELS: There's an emotional element to Robin's story as well, lots of it. One of my goals is that by the end of the story the player will have felt some kind of sad/glad/mad emotion. I suppose 5 & 6 could be filed under 1 goal called 'Player Engagement'.

So there it is. My first, and perhaps last, custom character (Summer's ending and so is free time). This has been a lot of fun for me to make and I'd like to thank FlowerThief for making character creation so accessible for just about anybody. And of course the pioneers of the craft, by whose content I could reverse-engineer my non-working stories into working ones.

See you next time!

*Edit: Robin unfortunately is very much not done actually, sorry about my hastiness to be posting a very raw product. As it is I will be completing the character/story at a later date and will definitely make some grand statement about its completion after meticulous play-testing. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Her ID tag is 100 (Yes, it works perfectly well, I didn't wanna step on any reserved toes.)

I'll take a closer look at this character later, but, I swear, I said something about ID 100 being "sorta-taken".

author=Marrend
Now that you mention it, I seemed to have forgotten to put in "ID 100 = ? Takuya [Kevincalanor, "Built-off", tachie/profile only?]" in the last update. On the other hand, I'm not sure how serious it was, content-wise. It felt more like a test of what could be done with that particular model than anything else.

Eh, whatever. I'm more interested in this character, and what you did with a 17-day dev-cycle. To be honest, I'm kinda expecting crap (No offense, but, most content take months to complete), but, yeah, we'll see.

*Edit: So, I played a bit of Robin's content. It was actually pretty good! Saying that, here's the most notable things I came across:

  • What's with the English teacher using the term "darlin'"?
This sticks out like a sore thumb to me. It just doesn't sound like something a teacher of this school would say. At the very least, it's not terminology that we have heard in any other content.

  • There are a number of places where the speaker fails to change.
For example, there's a line where it's Keika doing what appears to be a <player> thought-bubble. Maybe it was one of Robin's lines, though. The point being that this occurs when the speaker is not defined, and defaults to whoever was the last-defined speaker.

  • "Shopping Mall" date?
When they set up the date at the "shopping mall", I assumed it would be at Market Street rather than at the Fashion Mall. Perhaps this can be clarified a bit?

  • #PICTURE = Later!
The game sets PLACE = none in two events (inside the music shop, and inside the stadium). This is not necessarily a bad thing, but, I get the impression that players should be able to see something. This is where PICTURE comes into play. I figure the default location list doesn't have what you're looking for. I seem to recall somebody with a "SOSC background pack" (Crap, I can't remember who it was, or if this was even the name that was used!) that might have what you're looking for?

  • "Seeyousoon"!
I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be exactly what this is supposed to relay (ie: fast speech), but, I'd like to confirm it anyway.

  • AFFECTION DOWN!?
I could identify two places where Robin's affection goes down when, to me, it doesn't feel like it should. One is where you're trying to find Keika (who was trying to find Robin), and the other is when you fail to call Robin up the day after she asks you to call her. With the first scenario, it might have been more efficient to get Robin to class first, but, I dunno, it's more like a "as long as I get there" thing. With the second scenario, there's literally no room between the events. It comes off as a terrible case of Guide Damn It. I dunno, maybe it's just me.

  • References!
Shihoko's theme in the music store!
"Heartbreak Studios", huh? Yeah, about that...
Did I, or did I not catch a Minecraft reference in one of the phone conversations?

  • Other notes
STORY 13 in robin_story_4 - "...actually, I haven't seen her a lot lately." Probably. Since she's asking if <player> has seen her lately a couple lines down.
For some reason, this gets me to want to get (or listen to) a very specific song that's in Remnants of Isolation.
Thanks for playing some of Robin's content Marrend, it's all I could ask for. If I were in your shoes I'd definitely expect crap too. Also, if the ID conflict becomes a problem, I can always use FindAll/ReplaceAll. Just say the word and what ID Robin should be. That being said, I'm glad Robin's content isn't crap, definitely in need of repair though. Here's my explanation/face-palm to your notable things:

What's with the English teacher using the term "darlin'"?
This sticks out like a sore thumb to me. It just doesn't sound like something a teacher of this school would say. At the very least, it's not terminology that we have heard in any other content.
With all the Tachie-less NPCs I tried to give lines that hinted towards some kind of personality/background/whatever. The strongest example of this is Makoto. With the English teacher though, eh, admittedly unnecessary. I actually tried finding terms of endearment specific to Australian culture, but after some fruitless research I just cut my losses and eye-balled it.

There are a number of places where the speaker fails to change.
For example, there's a line where it's Keika doing what appears to be a <player> thought-bubble. Maybe it was one of Robin's lines, though. The point being that this occurs when the speaker is not defined, and defaults to whoever was the last-defined speaker.
AHHHH! So it ain't so! I thought I weeded all of those out... *sigh* I'll scour the files again before I update anything...

"Shopping Mall" date?
When they set up the date at the "shopping mall", I assumed it would be at Market Street rather than at the Fashion Mall. Perhaps this can be clarified a bit?
This can be clarified. My bad.

#PICTURE = Later!
The game sets PLACE = none in two events (inside the music shop, and inside the stadium). This is not necessarily a bad thing, but, I get the impression that players should be able to see something. This is where PICTURE comes into play. I figure the default location list doesn't have what you're looking for. I probably should have considered using pictures for these scenes... If you ever come across that background pack, give me a holler. In the meantime I'll look for something that fits the general art style.

"Seeyousoon"!
I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be exactly what this is supposed to relay (ie: fast speech), but, I'd like to confirm it anyway.
Confirmed. That's exactly what that is. #Embarrassed #Outtahere

AFFECTION DOWN!?
I could identify two places where Robin's affection goes down when, to me, it doesn't feel like it should. One is where you're trying to find Keika (who was trying to find Robin), and the other is when you fail to call Robin up the day after she asks you to call her. With the second scenario, there's literally no room between the events. It comes off as a terrible case of Guide Damn It. I dunno, maybe it's just me.
The first is a case of me being sloppy. Originally Robin was not going to like Keika initially. I ended up scrapping this idea, but not the scene that leads to it. The second is definitely a case of Guide Damn It... Kinda designed that way, but I can adjust that to make it more fair.

References! You say that like it's a bad thing... ;)
Shihoko's theme in the music store! I was there, it was there, things happened...
"Heartbreak Studios", huh? Yeah, about that... A nod to you guys here, not necessary of course.
Did I, or did I not catch a Minecraft reference in one of the phone conversations?
You did! Sometimes I have fun making references... But I see your point as references break immersion.

Other notes
STORY 13 in robin_story_4 - "...actually, I haven't seen her a lot lately." Probably. Since she's asking if <player> has seen her lately a couple lines down.
AH! Caught slacking off again...

For some reason, this gets me to want to get (or listen to) a very specific song that's in Remnants of Isolation.
I have no clue what that song could be, but if it's related to the title of the game it sounds about right. Robin's theme, without a doubt, is separation.

I don't know how far you've gotten in Robin's storyline, but there's a definite error I've made that completely breaks immersion. The easiest solution would be to make Robin's heartache stop rising entirely, but I don't see a way to do that. As it is, the story is still playable, but immersion breaking... This problem would start around Day 80. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for that.

I'll make an update fixing various problems, uhhh, sometime. College starts up again tomorrow for me and I'll be busying myself with that. Thanks again for playing it despite my horrible first impression!

I think you mis-read my intentions with the "References" section. I love references! Darigaaz, you should see Emiko! That content is chock full of them!

I stopped playing when I saw the DAY 80 requirement and wasn't up to doing TIME TRAVEL to get there. Though, for full disclosure, I did TIME TRAVEL to get to the DAY 50 event, so, BOO ON ME.

Anyway, here's the thing I believe you will want to do for Robin for her post-DAY-80 content:

ID = 100
ENCOUNTERS OFF
PHONE UNKNOWN

The first line removes her from being a random encounter, the reasoning being that running into her at school would be impossible. This also has the added benefit from preventing the heartache counter from decrementing.

The second line makes <player> "forget" her number. Considering where she's going, I highly doubt that her number would be retained!

*Edit: Very tempted to hand Robin ID# 100. Takuya doesn't have a story attached to him, and wouldn't be as much effort to change.

*Edit2:
This is the song I was talking about before.

*Day-later edit:
I seem to recall some events at the beginning of robin_story_4 which looked a lot like cut-and-paste events based on where <player> took Robin. I believe we could cut that code down through some "Common Event" tech. What would need to happen is to have the sequence play out as normal, then use a JUMP command for when choices would need to be displayed. I'm not 100% sure what the condition for the initial event would look like, but, I'm at least 90% sure what the JUMP conditions would look like.

Pass it up ^^
In fact, Takuya don't have anything attached to him atm, so it will be far from a problem to change it up, plus the "NPC pack" is supposed to include Reiko and the girls from 1A too. (Far from finding anything for Chocolate lady though.)

Speaking of NPCs, what about Hiro and Yoshinori, Any clues of how they should look/Expressions? x3

Yep, that's the pack.
As the post is a mess ton of stuff dated back on March, let's just resend the Link

It don't have a music shop, but have the school's music room and a general shopping street, and... a great concert room interior :D (plus a lot of maybe useful random stuff)

By the way, just downloaded Clark a review coming soon ^^

Sidenote: I need to gather up these stuff and put them on that "showcase" post on first page, even I had forgotten about the backgrounds pack >.>

Maybe Robin could use a bit of work, but, it still felt like a completed character to me. Meaning that I felt like the likelihood of adding additional content wouldn't add all that much to the character. I could be surprised, though. Considering how the character came out of nowhere, and surprised me, I cannot discount the possibility.

*Edit: Oh, right, the newer graphic. Will set it up soon!

A funny thing happened when I logged on RMN today. I found a gamepage that used Yu's "Medium Build Girl" for character graphics! However, the characters looked more that a little familiar! I quickly recognized Joruri and Shoko, and eventually looked up recognized Robin.

Of course, I made a post on that gamepage.
So after years of hide-and-seek like develop and stall, Eliza Yamisaki is finally here. (wish I was joking on the years part)
I can't really say it's 100%, but the thing is, I'll never be able to do so, even if it is.

So there ya go!

Base story: A few days after the bet, <player> class is called to a co-work with Miki's class, after, on his own thoughts, being lucky enough to avoid being paired with Nakajima, he's presented to Eliza "Shadow-wolf" Yamisaki, whose name caused a lot of buzz around the class, however, she doesn't seem to care about them, neither about him, and finish by taking the co-op notice on a skeptical, sourer note.
Will <player> be able to use this co-op to his advantage on the bet, or at least complete it without getting much of a trouble?

This summer on netflix

Download

Note: The pack contains three characters, but two act on support role, therefore there's only one route.

For the people who helped on the developing and beta. May contain spoilers and nuts.
So on these ten days, I've completely revamped... Bleh, who do I even think I'm fooling?

So. I've took a look on the files, funny enough the one event which I wanted to remove, due an unfitting quote, had already been removed on the 1.1 version. But once there, was no reason to not poke things around.
A few lines were changed to be more fitting/impacting, and some of the grammar fixed, there's still mistakes of course, after all, my English knowledge still comes from the web/MMOs.

Back on track,
For the people who already played the 1.1beta, there's not a lot of new to see, but I can't help to suggest a playtest of the new version of the Event 50, which had most changes, and a music I was reserving for Alessa's route back in the day.

Graphic-wise there wasn't much to tamper with, besides the fun-fact that up to now, Eliza wasn wearing the uniform instead of the day-off outfit at the house event, which has been fixed.

Fun fact: The single glove of Eliza is a heritage from older versions of the story. She would be on the car at the time of the accident, ending up on a major scar on the right hand. Due the psychological effects, she would use that one glove to cover it, and associate it with "leaving the past behind" even though she fails to do so.

More stall as one would guess, still I looked over a few more events and made more corrections, once again the core of the events were unchanged to prevent plot inconsistencies.
Unfortunately, the attempts of creating a new hair graphic were spoiled, so we'll have to keep with this one.
Last, the .RAR name is the same of before ("Version 2.0 - Release"), but of course the contents were updated.

'kay, Wolfpack added to the Finished Content list. ID list should be updated momentarily!

*Edit: Done!
A year-plus late, but I finally sat down with this game over the past few days and ran through a good chunk of Robin Clark's content. It's excellent -- probably the best user creation on the board -- but I have one major issue, and that's the length of her scenes. The fact that many of her scenes are so long really throws off game play balance, especially in the early scenes. It has the effect of making one feel like they're reading a collection of short stores, but after the first couple a novel suddenly starts in the middle. On my playthrough, I ran into several of these long scenes within the first couple weeks, and despite the quality I found myself getting impatient with them. It's fine to have these larger scenes once or twice when they're highly important to the plot (e.g., the scene where Hinami is missing), but having a large group of them breaks the flow of the game too much, I think.

Anyway, sorry about being so late with this, but I've been working on a lot of other stuff.

Also wanted to note that I added an "incomplete" tag to a couple of items that needed it in the "Official Custom Content" blog post. I know it's for the sake of completion, but is having Ai in there really necessary? She's only got a couple of scenes and they're riddled with errors. Heck, if that qualifies, I might as well post Takako ;-).

To be fair, the only qualification I was going by with that blog-post (Which I'm starting to feel like it should have a link in the artistic thread) was if I had a ZIP file of that content. Amount of completion wasn't a concern; only that it was published in some way. I'm aware that qualification didn't quite work out for Wolfpack this time around (Sorry, Kevincalanor!), but next update (whenever that's gonna be!) should have it.

*Edit: It would also (hopefully) have whatever gets published between then and the next update.

Bring ALL the characters!
*nods* That makes sense. If you want it, I still have a copy of your Fran on my hard drive :-D . It was technically published, after all!

Content that is not listed here that are also listed on the blog for the all-in-one custom content download would be scattered in the various custom content threads. If you are looking for a specific custom character, or custom content package (ie Wolfpack or Uchioniko), I think it's possible to go into a user's profile, click on the Posts link, then enter the name of the content in question. You might still need to hunt posts to find the link you need (should the link still function), but, you can narrow the search down this way.

For example, I searched BasedMG's posts for "kotone", and it returned these results.

*Edit: I... might have read you wrong. Is there custom content listed in the blog as "complete" that isn't on this page?

I don't really know what I meant... So, are these (One this page) currently ALL finished CC?
Here is my first project:

Story/Motivation: there are some nice interactions between the player and two or more girls in the "built-in" content. I wanted more of this. So I created it myself.

There are two continuations of existing side story lines (Riho+Shihoko and Tsubasa+Shihoko) and one new story line about Riho+Tsubasa.

You can download it here.

Content: Stories, one backround picture
Requires: clean mode off
Credits: I used (and slightly edited) "CG Naoko cleans Kazuki closet.jpg" from the SOSC baground pack published here.
