Star Stealing Prince Review

Ummm... maybe I'm a bit behind the times with this one (I haven't played the most recent version of the game), but IIRC, this game isn't that hard. I will admit that I have some experience with some of the harder titles out there in terms of RMN and RPGs in general, but I feel like this game is pretty fair. Yes, it got tough when you got into a new area, but it didn't take long to overcome the difference in levels required to make most of the battles a breeze. To be honest, it seems to me that you just aren't a fan of the genre, seeing as you talk about FPSs quite a few times throughout the review.

Again, I may be off-base here, but I really didn't have any trouble getting through this game, and I don't recall grinding at all. Trust me, there are far harder games out there, and they're half as "pretty", if that. So consider yourself lucky that you had something pretty to look at and listen to while you were pummeled to death over and over again.

Fey

I hope your ass is clean, because it is about to be kissed....

In the handful of years I have been playing RM games, I don't think I have seen one so polished, especially created using RM2k3! It is graphically gorgeous, the story is engaging, and the gameplay is EXTREMELY tight for it's style. I have played a handful of other action games that used the 2k3 engine (and others) and I feel like Fey masters the genre. It's easy enough to learn quickly and get used to, yet difficult enough that you will die from time to time. I am always a bit skeptical about action games, but I am very pleased to say that this bad boy obliterated my skepticism rather quickly and soundly. Kudos, good sir!

I would like to say that you can expect a review from me when I finish this game, but I already have about 5 games that I need to finish because I have been too lazy busy to finish. Either way, if I do find the time to pop out a review, I will do so!

FINALLY! :D

^

I am exhausted...

Fast connection, don't care about size...

That being said, I'm sure that the quality is better than fine and the DL time will be well worth it when we finally get to play the game!

I know this is probably a rough draft, but the border thicknesses look... off. I think the varying thicknesses is what is causing this. Also, I agree that if you are going to make other borders outside what's "important", there should at least be rhyme to your reason!

Sneezes...? Sounds more inconsiderate than damaging!

Is anyone running the most recent download finding the speed of monsters to be problematic at all? If so, I'll tend to that when I fix the Palumpu Post issue.

Like I said, I'm not terribly far through the game right now, but I plan on pressing on until the end. As of thus far, I haven't really noticed much of an issue with enemies in terms of speed (I assume you mean in battle), BUT I have noticed a bit of an imbalance in magic power.

There are some monsters that do diddly squat in terms of physical attacks, but can wipe the floor with even my strongest characters with a single magic attack! I know 2k3 has a bit of an issue with the "magic" stat when applied to an attack, so this might not be a simple fix, and maybe these attacks are designed to be this way, but I still feel like enemy magic attacks specifically are a wee bit OP.

Another minor gripe or concern are the early midboss/sideboss rewards (ie. the drake under the castle or the goblin dude in the water shrine). Some of these guys are INCREDIBLY difficult and costly (resource-wise) to beat, at least when they are first accessible. And even after you finally beat down some of these brawny bastards, the rewards barely make up for the resources spent in the battle! Maybe I'm overreacting a bit, but I feel like either the battles should be toned down a bit or the rewards should be bolstered a bit. This includes a lot of the "monster-in-the-box" battles. Just my humble opinion. And again, I'm not that far, so I may be wrong about things later on!

Sorry I went off a little bit there, but I had a moment to share some thoughts, so I did!

Let me know what you think!

Pocket Quest!

My balls are so blue from waiting for this game... SO EXCITED!

Seriously though, I can't wait for the final bits of this game to be finished!

And that cave? Go back to it later with what she wants. Much, much, much later. :p

I thought that might be the case...
