I'll take the (chocolate chip) cookies for testing! I'm glad it's progressing, despite the annoyances of databasing. You can look forward to bug fixing once I get my hands on the next copy (unfortunatly, I am evil enough to bring it up). Don't worry though, from what I've seen of the last demo, odds are there will only be minor bugs here and there (at least we can hope).

Databasing hasn't been that annoying, it's just tedious. And I think it would have helped if I had planned a bit better (haha so many things I'm realizing now makes me go "dammit, wish I had realized that at the beginning!"), but I'm slowly getting it done!

I think I am going to do the full game's beta-testing in phases this time. Meaning there is a group that gets my hot off the presses version to catch most of the bugs I am too stupid to encounter through my own play through. Then I'll have another group take a crack at it after the initial group to make sure the first group didn't miss anything.

And then of course, knowing my luck, that still won't be enough. :P Glad you're stoked to still test it!

Yes, I think I do have to send Max_McGee SOMETHING (hey people go subscribe to his game! *nudge nudge*) because for a fact that number got a lot bigger after his review! :>

"Script 'Cache' Line 80: RGSSError occured. failed to create bitmap" FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

I think having people make a Graphics folder and then a System folder in there and putting the iconset in there should work. It worked with RMXP anyway. <_<

I think RMVX encryption has shoddy problems and the "images being too big to encrypt" is one of them. It won't for example, encrypt a project that happens to get pretty big (I had this problem ;_;, but at least there are workarounds!).

Though you should probably go through the agonizing project of going through your icons and figuring out the ones you are using and the ones you aren't so you can cut out the ones you aren't using and thus cut down the size of the file.

RMVX Game Over Crash

I think I ended up selling my soul for this scripter. :|

And send away, I can have my scripter look at it! Hopefully. XD But I will get back to you when you send it my way.

Jear77: Haha, I forgot I gave the demo access to that attack. I balanced the bird without having that attack myself and went "welp, let's make Hiante useful" and slapped that on his sword. Glad it helped! :)

RMVX Game Over Crash

Wow! That's a lot for battle! But my scripter says that's normal. As long as they don't remain, which I think a few of them do!

OK, so the first two. Are they before a battle and after that same battle or are they from two different saves? And is that During Combat one before the second screenshot or is that unrelated to the second screenshot?

As you can see Window_ItemData repeats 3 times, as with Window_MenuStatus. That's bad. Those are undisposed windows and could be causing a problem! Do any of your scripts say anything about Item Data in them or Menu Status that might pertain to battle? Because they don't show up until after a battle correct?

Criticism, your audience, and putting your foot down; the concept of saying "That's too god damn bad."

If you have several people in a row telling you that your battle mechanics are unbalanced...it might be time to take a look at them.

That doesn't always happen! If someone is so full of themselves they will think "you're all just ganging up on me!". Peeps who want to improve and are in a place to see something is wrong will see that more than one person mentioning a problem as a way to validate that there is a problem. But some people have the idea that if more and more people talk about said problem as a problem, that those people are ganging up on them!

I think in terms of the topic at large is that people who create need to know what they want to do with what they are creating. And once the person learns that, they should also learn how much they want to sacrifice their growth (might be a wrong term) for what they want to do with a game. They should also be willing to be malleable enough to be able to tweak things so that even if a feature they are using isn't received well, they should be able to look at it from afar to determine how to make it received well (which all depends on the audience that they want--their audience here is different than their audience elsewhere). If it really can't be, then I think it's okay to put your foot down and say "that's too god damn bad". But you also should make sure if the feature is really needed if it's not received well because if you do put your foot down, you do turn away potential players. But if that's a blow you want to take, then that's what the designer chooses and I think that's okay. Just act like an adult about it and all that.

Final Fantasy Essence

Perhaps you should grow up a tad and not fly off the handle when things aren't going your way (such as not making a blog that insults your fans here, say this site sucks for not having 'valid' criticism etc). Hear criticism that is counterproductive to the goal of your game? Ignore it! Don't bother addressing it (other than the simple phrase "the point is an old-school FF game; it was like that in the old-school FF game. This is how it's going to be, thank you for playing). The way you guys go back and forth from cancelled to oh no, we just hate this site, to whatever you are now, you guys are making me think it's not worth following this game. So much drama!

Good luck with it though, I hope you guys keep updating here because it's such a nice handy place to watch for updates on a game.

Internet Blacklisting, Save the Internet!

'_') I would like to know the justification for that. How would it stop foreigners from stealing our jobs?

The game has not been can'd

Then don't reply to said people who complain about random encounters! I mean if you want to keep them, that's your business and as soon as you stop replying to them, they'll get the hint and move on most likely. This is such a hard game to follow! And you guys need to learn to take criticism just a tad better. Yeah, you guys want to keep the random encounters, so anyone who mentions that, just ignore that part. You shouldn't fly off the handle and say "lol cancelled, lol not, lol on another site because we don't like this site anymore". You've decided what to keep. All this going back and forth is just going to make people lose interest. Or decide your game is just a drama factory and they shouldn't bother to keep track of it.

And besides the random encounters, I'm pretty sure there were other valid criticisms the people here gave you. You just keep getting hung up on the random encounters thing. Just move on from talking about that! My goodness.

but wait, I'm a 'loyal' fan so I guess it doesn't matter!
