Like Legionwood? Check out the sequel! http://rpgmaker.net/games/3811/

In production since 2007, Legionwood: Tale of the Two Swords is an epic length traditional role playing game created in RPG Maker VX which was completed in late 2010.

Featuring accessible, familiar gameplay reminscent of the early Final Fantasy titles, Legionwood offers you a 20+ hour long quest set in a massive fantasy world filled with challenging enemies, involving quests and tons of character customisation options with the in depth AP Character System.

Take control of Lann Northshire, an ordinary peasant who is unwillingly thrown into a conflict that will soon engulf the entire world. The fate of Legionwood hangs in the balance. Will you be able to restore peace to the land? With a thrilling story of love, revenge, war and peace, Legionwood is an adventure that you won't want to pass up!

Featured Game!

A short, sweet update: for those who don't know, Legionwood is RMN's featured game this month. I didn't know it was coming, and was pleasantly surprised when I logged in today and saw it on the home page. So uh, kudos to me, I guess?

Anyway, I just want to thank everyone who has played and supported the game (especially those people who provided useful feedback) over the course of its development and the couple of years afterward. Your comments and suggestions have shaped the game and helped me make it into what it is today. Keep on playing and remember to drop a line if you have any thoughts, because an update is never out of the question. I worked on this game for nearly 3 whole years and it was a huge part of my day to day life once. For giving me the chance to see it succeed, I owe you one :)

So celebrate this occasion by giving it a download and playing it through, if you like. Thank you once again, and keep an eye on Legionwood 2, which I am slowly but surely plugging away at. There is plenty more old school RPGing to come!

Hi guys. Sorry, unfortunately I overlooked a huge error that causes the game to run. That's not like me at all! I've fixed it and reuploaded it. If you wish to download the game please download the "Legionwood Demo 2 (fixed)" file. Sorry for the inconveniance to those who already DLed it.
Game seems awesome mate. So far I haven't come that far since I've been trying to play the "un-fixed" version :p (Btw is there a way to edit the files incase I find an error and decide to fix it so I can test it out before you re-upload a fixed version? (No harm if you don't want that :p)

And definately one of the cooler looking main chars ever xD!! Lann ftw !
Nice to see you're enjoying it. Unfortunately you cannot edit the game but don't fear as I have released the fixed version which my teseters have certified as a bug free demo. Enjoy!
Yes indeed it was bug free. A tad short tho (I know it's a demo :p).
Any update concerning how far you're from finishing the game?
As in if you're closer to 10% finished or 80%.
And I have to congratulate you on finding a good difficulty, it's really hard but doable, which is perfect. :)

Keep up the good work.
Unfortunately the game is around 15% done. I'm intending it to match the gameplay time of a commercial game. Anyway, gald you enjoyed it. Keep an eye out for the full version!
Wow

This game looks very interesting
Good game. The only problem I have are the monsters. They deal A LOT of damage (I even bought equipment) to the characters. About 1/3 of their HP really. So because of that, I have to use the inn after every single battle. Am I fighting the wrong monsters??? Currently I'm fighting serpents and wolves right outside Upperthorne.
Yes you are. The game is intentionally hard.
Hey everyone! Just me with an update on the changes I have made to Legionwood thus far. Also, the Upperthorne Catacomb map in Legionwood has come 2nd in the 4th RPG Revolution Mapping Contest! (See here: http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23842)

. Current game progress has hit 30%
. The font has been changed from the stylized Fontlero to a new variation of Times New Roman which is easier to read.
. The lag has been cut in half. 3 Anti Lag scripts have been utilized, plus all unnessary events have been removed. All those "This barrel is empty" events are gone.
. Important things to examine and people to talk to are marked with a special symbol above them. This makes it easier to speed through the game if you don't want to spend hours searching and talking.
. The dialogue has been streamlined. The pauses in the text are now cut in half, and the dialogue is shorter to get through in some cases.
. The player is now able to rest in their house in Upperthorne, rather than going to the Inn.
. The intro has been redone. Rather than the crap about your name being the definition of courage and a scrolling map, you get a shorter, but more interesting cut scene that gets you right into the game.
. The encounter rate has been made lower, but as a result, the enemies are slightly harder and drop more experience points.
. A new save system is implemented, which displays where the game was saved, your party status, money, date and play time.
. A new skill advancment system via KGC's APAttribute Assignment script has been put in. Now, as well as gaining your normal level up bonuses, you will gain some AP upon level up, which can be spent on additional stat increases, or hit rate, evade rate or critical rate increases as well. This means you are now fully able to customize which skills and stats your characters have, enabling you to mould the character to fit the style of fighting you use them for. You can now craft skilled magic users or powerful warriors!

Phew! And that's it for now! Stay tuned for more updates or the full version. With my moderator position on RRR, I don't get active so much, so please bear with me.
This game's introduction bored me to tears. I exited the game as soon as I began to wonder when I could actually play the damn game.
Oh is the intro really that long? I'm a very impatient person :F
You should upload the version with the revamped systems. Looks pretty cool.
The new version with the new systems is going online in time for Release Something VI. I have decided to make this game a culmulative release, like Starless Umbra, with new chapters becoming available every few months. So far, the game includes the revamped features and the first 2 chapters. (Around 4-5 hours of gameplay)
Yeah I was playing the game and I think I'm going the wrong way. The monsters kill me in 1 round of attacks and the enemies each take 4-5 hits to kill. My second encounter with monsters killed me and I got a game over. I really don't want to power level at level 1. Also, where is the save point/crystal? I don't want to have to sit the intro again and again and again...
Pushing these crystals...is...so...A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G!!!! >.<
(It's the red and green crystals at the ruins)

Antilurker, you can save on the world map and you should find Gaia's Cave and level up to around level 3 there before trying to head through to the festival. The start is a bit too difficult, I agree.
Not sure if i am being insanely stupid here but...

The game doesnt seem to be displaying any font as a result the menu's are blank and so is the chat dialog - are there compatability issues or is it something else im over looking? (did look for a readme/troubleshoot but no luck).
You need to install the BLACKCHA font file included in the game.
Doh, had manaully installed the files that were in extracted to the fonts folder during installation but somehow missed that Blackcha font from the zip file - oops.

Works now anyways - cheers.
okay so i'm at the dock and talked to the old guy I tried to get upstairs by talking to the guy in front of it once I talk to him it freezes i can't even go to menue help
