PLAYING GAMES?

Hi guys. I'm new to the community. Tough I'm not a gamer, I'm interested in videogames.

Would like to know how can I play some of the games featured here. I already downloaded them, but I don't know how to execute them. I have a Macbook Pro.

Thank you!
You should name the games you are trying to play. Typically you run the .exe files, but I honestly don't know how Mac handles that stuff.

I think maybe some of the engines simply won't work on Mac??(confirmation needed)
Well. I already downloaded I'm Scared of Girls (since I read it is the winner of the last summer contest) and also Space Funeral.

In my downloads folder both games look like a file icon. If i click on them, the folder opens and let me see a LOT of folders more.
Yep, those are RPG Maker 2003 games. There will be tons of folders and tons of files. Look for RPG_RT.exe and run that.
Ok. I'll try it. Thanks for the help.

It might take some kind of Windows emulation to run RPG Maker games on a Mac. I'm no expert on this matter, however.

Yeah, you're going to need a Windows emulator for that. Unfortunately, the RPG Maker engines don't have support on Macs.

It's always made me sad; one of my best friends for years and years is a Mac user, but he's never been able to play my games except on my machine.
Well. I'll try it in a PC before installing a Windows emulator. Thanks to all for the help.

That's a rar file, you need to extract it somewhere before playing the game.
Welcome to RMN, where everything is made up and the points don't matter!

Yeah, check out rarlabs.com or download 7-zip to open up .rar files.
I already have one of those programs (Unarchiver) that opens .rar and zip files. Anyways I click on the .exe file of the extracted folder and it just doesn't runs. I need Windows or something. I'll try it in a friends computer.

Thank you very much for the help and the warm welcome.
