Well, I'm not exactly jumping to the thread every time I get a notice. But sometimes I catch an interesting conversation and, if I want to follow it, I follow the thread. I just got lazy and didn't want to keep posting, then unsubbing, then posting, then unsubbing.
I have revealed too much, it seems.
EDIT:
Mafia was loads worse. I couldn't even use the Latest Posts section.

Yeah, I'd imagine this thread is like a never-ending mafia game thread at times.
Mafia was loads worse. I couldn't even use the Latest Posts section.
Wait, what?! Dangert, I missed my chance to participate in the historical battle for the 1000th page! Couldn't you have waited until I was at home?
Oh well, good job outposting the (almost) ever-vigilant Mistress Liberty, guys. And congrats to Addit for the achievement!
I wanted that...

Liberty's attention span allowed you guys to win that battle. I had to miss it >.>
Yeah, I was MIA for the last page, watching YT videos and nomming on my dinner. By the time I remembered it was a thing, it was over. Ooops! The epic battle wasn't so epic after all.
Oh well, there's always page 2000~ ;p

Hmm... It took just a tad over 7 years to get this topic to 1000 pages. Think we can beat that record for the next 1000?

River Song was just painfully smug, and seriously smug is the Doctor's bailiwick. The whole romance side didn't work either, not because the Doctor couldn't get some, I'm sure he could, Susan was his granddaughter and he's mentioned a son, but River just never worked in regard to chemistry for me. Cross species relationships would never be easy but you'd need a least some spark and all I ever got from her was cockiness.
In regard to a female Doctor, I can only say please not now, not ever. That ridiculous Master/Missy thing was enough. Gallifreyan society was equal, Time Lords and Time Ladies were treated exactly the same and with respect and honour accorded to both according to their merits. Hell Romana kicked the Doctor's arse in regard to ability and skills and he knew it. The Rani could run rings around him and laugh whilst doing it. It depresses me that we want to weigh down something which already embodies the ideal with the plagues of our own making. We should aspire to be like them in that regard not make them like us. Also it's pure escapist fun, it should just be that.
If you really want a female Doctor there is always Jenny, she's basically a female clone. I'm really hoping she turns up again one day, Georgia Moffett was brilliantly cast.
Oh and just to add, I don't worship the ground that Amy Pond walks on either. Rory I thought was brilliant, but Amy was narcissistic and whiny early on, and self righteous and victim-fodder later. Though I really liked her as a snarky 12 year old. If only it wouldn't have set off every alarm bell in the world for a grown man to be shown travelling alone with a 12 year old girl I would have said she made a perfect companion. Though then again given the Doctor's age, all humans are children to him.
I didn't mind a female Master. I just have an issue with Missy being the Master. It was always a possibility when you think of the body snatching incident in "The Master of Traken", and by refusing to regenerate, he's made that a possible necessity again. But in Missy's case, all of the signal's said "Rani", and of course, Steven Moffat just had to tell everyone that he was trying to make everyone think it was the Rani.
As far as companions go, I did rather like Amy, though she did get a little helpless from time to time, but would you forgive me if I told you that my favorite NuWho companion was Martha Jones?
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I want a female Doctor, damnit!
Here, I made you one!
...Wait, what? That wasn't what you meant? What do you mean, "Doctor with a capital D"? Thirteen loves the D! I mean, not exclusively.
author=Marrendauthor=Cap_HI've successfully run Heroes of Might and Magic 2 in DosBox. Though, to be fair, I'm using the original 1996 version
Dos Box is cool. I tried to use it once with HoMaM 2 and failed.because casting Armageddon with negative spell power is the bomb.
Still, maybe I can help. What seems to be the issue?
*Edit: Do you have D-Fend Reloaded, or just DosBox?
I have Heroes 2 on CD and it always worked fine with xps. I'm not sure whether I installed this or some abandonware version on my vistas. I surely did so before installing dos-box too. I had problems to uninstall it afterwards too.

Funnily enough, I vaguely recall having issues uninstalling The Price of Loyalty expansion pack to Heroes 2 in XP (I totally still have that disc too), but that's a different story.
Anyway, I can't speak for an abandonware version, but, for the CD version, I installed it on my Win 7 machine within the DosBox environment, because of the virtual drives. For instance, my actual Heroes 2 directory is C:\Games\Classic\Heroes 2, but the config file has C: point to that directory. I've never tried to uninstall it, but, since I installed it in the DosBox environment, I could probably just delete the directory, and be okay.

Better than Rose. Actually that's not fair, Rose/9 were great it was Rose/10 that got ridiculous and Rose the yo-yo destroyed all emotional impact but that was RTD being a huge idiot. I liked Martha in the beginning and the end it was the middle that annoyed me, yet again a problem with the writing. She was strong and smart on the Moon and decisive and self-assured after the year that never was but the lovesick cowgirl vibe that permeated the rest of the season was disappointing, though Freema Agyeman did the best she could with the hand she was dealt.
I think some of the best moments in NuWho come from 9 and Rose. "Moisturize me! Moisturize me!" "I give you air from my lungs." "Go to your room! I'm so glad that worked; those would have been horrible last words."
But you are a Donna fan, so I'm just going to leave this here.

I have some troubles getting heroes of might and magic II run as well. But hey, at least I can get back to playing Commander Keen!

The Comic Relief Doctor Who skits are always hilarious. Actually there you go Libby track down the Curse of Fatal Death, you'll get a female Doctor, and a stunning one at that.
Actually don't bother tracking it down, here 'tis

@nhubi Yes! I love that skit. "How could I possibly forget the only time-traveling companion I've ever had?" "But you've had lots of companions." "The only time-traveling companion I've ever...had."
