I sincerely enjoy these types of games way more than i enjoy serious, full-blown rpg maker games. The former have some sort of anesthetic effect on me,a mistifying, mesmerizing sort of effect. They make me shut off my brain and forget about details because i know i'm playing crap anyway so i may as well keep watching the trainwreck to see what cheap laughs i can get out of it.
On the other hand, i need to be invested (and possibly intoxicated) to bear games made seriously, because then you need to appreciate the effort put into graphics, storyline, gameplay, buh baddaa beem badda boom.
The only problem is that i have lots of difficulty finding these kinds of games. The former i mean.
I should tattoo 'hakuna matata' somewhere on my body.

These games are around 6-7 years old and have more than likely faded into obscurity among the heaps of lousy RPG Maker games, unfortunately.
I particularly liked Monster Master, though. It was bad in such a mind-boggling, subtle kind of way that it remains in my memory, especially for that horrifically candid quote by the angel depicted in that image.

Remember back when people put effort into their joke games? Like Reality Breakdown; I played the shit out of that (but only because it used the FFV battle theme for random encounters).
If you want to make a game purely because you want to write something funny, maybe I can interest you in some Interactive Fiction instead. Or, a fancy visual novel, at least.

Nah, my dream is to be able to recreate games like Mario & Luigi; stuff with a funny setting and good gameplay.

This weekend might have become a bit more interesting. I'm pretty sure I can still make it for RMN's Birthday event, but, it's probably going to be a really tight squeeze!
Does it seem like to anyone else that with the Rio olympics and the Zika virus and Microcephaly that we are in the prequel section of some Children of Men-like dystopian novel?
