The garlic mashed potatoes didn't reheat as I hoped they would, but this leftover meatloaf is fantastic.
So if I have a cap of 100 HP, and I take 50 damage, so then I'm at 50 HP, meaning I'm half dead, how the heck can I swing a consistent amount of attack power being half dead? I'm pretty sure if I was half dead I'd have a bit of trouble swinging a huge sword, especially if I was swinging as hard as I would be at perfect health.
I'm sure adrenaline and such would help, but even down to like 2 HP, you'd be just layin on the ground trying your best to breathe, you wouldn't be swinging a sword to kill.
Well, make a wounds system in your game instead of complaining about abstractions. Or would you like the first hit to determine who loses?
Wouldn't matter, at 2 HP your senses would be so fucked up the only thing you could reliably hit would be the sky

Most RPGs have it so you're unconscious at 0 HP, not dead.

It's a game lol not real life. Just like in killing games when you get shot about 100 times before you actually die.
