WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

politics are just weird like that. and people like the concept of freedom so much that they're very quick to name their philosophies after it.

you cannot build a society of any appreciable size on the principle that the unfit will perish. if you truly believe in social darwinism to this extent, feel free to run out into the wilderness and live free of the many ways in which the government regulates your life without your knowledge. people upholding a "surival of the fittest" perspective of life are usually shockingly unaware of just how much they take for granted, and would fall to pieces without the various social structures of modern society to hold them together comfortably.
oh yeah, fuck libertarians.
(countdown to a heavy idealized account of some feudalist society from the time when men were men and etc)
If people wish to take care of these people, they may do so on their own behalf, help should be on a community level, not federal. Throwing more power at government so you can feel better about yourself is the exact reason why this country is failing.
So... What the hell is a liberal in politic? And why is it being hated? =.=
I only know its basic meaning. :|

I don't think you understand the extent to which you yourself burden society. it's fallacious to pretend that people should be forced to provide for the "weak" out of their own means alone simply to satisfy your individualist fantasies.
anyone can have a bad day, or a bad year. you would change your tune very quickly if you fell on hard times yourself, because the commonly-touted bootstraps fantasy of libertarians and conservatives is nothing but a myth.
just who are you advocating leaving to rot, again? remember that to someone, somewhere, you yourself are in the same category.
society only begins to exist when we come together as a people and provide for others what they cannot provide for themselves, with the understanding that they would do the same for us. if you disagree, I hear there are some lovely caves you could live in. as it is, though, it's hypocritical to live your comfortable life supported by the efforts of tens of thousands and pretend you have the knowledge and the authority to dictate who gets to benefit.
"fuck you, got mine". right?
maybe I'm crazy, but I've always thought that the Merchant of Venice would have had a much more satisfying ending if Shylock had known to just use a hot knife.
apropos of nothing.

Glad to know someone on another RPG Maker forum decided not to commit suicide. >_> Good god was I in a panic.

LMAO I did, but I came across a bunch of nonsense, hateful answers. XD
Oh well, whatever. :P

You don't need to talk to me about hard times, because I've been there. Simply saying that I live a comfortable life without knowing my situation doesn't make your point more valid.
As for living in a cave, no thanks. I pay my taxes and I pay my own way in life through my own hard work. As for dictating anyone's benefit, what are you talking about? Oh, you mean like an unemployment line for welfare?
lolbertarians
do you not see the paradox in making huge sweeping statements about how everyone should live by survival of the fittest and the government is coddling the weak and so on, then turning around and complaining that you should be able to live your life your way because
my tax dollars
?
I have no problem with you trying to live your life your way, but I think it's unrealistic to say that government deregulation is some kind of panacea, and it's desperate and impotent to act as if you have any say in how your tax dollars are spent. if anything, the greatest blow to capitalist society comes not from government regulation, but from private families and businesses learning the system and exploiting it to create an economy of desperation that feeds on the lower and middle classes.
the problem with social darwinism is that it invariably leads to the formation of an apex predator class that lives off of the lower classes and is itself constantly on the verge of starving. I don't call that a very healthy society, but you may disagree.

They're just a political party is all. I can only assume they're disliked because some of their stances are "no guns for you, but have this militia" and another being "embryos must be researched."
I thought I was one at one point, but, my beliefs clash quite a bit with liberal beliefs so I guess not.

^ demonstrative of why it's difficult to get a straight answer. politics is basically the art of exaggerating things to make a side you don't like seem as cartoonishly evil as possible.
"liberal" is just an ideology. there's an element of social collectivism and the belief that rights and liberties should be made equal, and in the US a strong focus on Keynesian economics -- a free market, but with certain safeguards in place. the point where most people who dislike liberals come to dislike them is that they also believe that the government should have a role in regulating the private sector (which many see as interfering where interference is not necessary), and their typically more progressive stance causes friction with people who hold more traditional beliefs.
that said, this is the internet. pick any single ideology, and I guarantee you'll find a bunch of people honking about how it's the worst thing ever.

Acne cream, vitamins, and video games this is what teenage boys are made of!
Or at least, I am. I'm a little embarrassed at how happy I was to get those three things.

Alright, I think this is going to get way out of hand, and while I am for randomness and senseless trash talk on irc I'd like to keep the forums out of that.
I'm more than willing to discuss politics further over pm or on irc or whatever other platform suits you best, but I feel like the route we're taking with this we'll just end up turning this topic into a flame war, it's inevitable when talking about politics on an open forum thread on an rpgmaker forum.
No need to apologize, we took it that extra step.
Let's just get back to what this topic is actually for.

No fucking way, you know I'll just forget about it halfway through and ruin the whole thing.
