it's one of those things where the commodetized, fetishized version has become so divorced from the real-world people it reflects that most people don't know where it comes from and don't realize what they're actually saying when they talk about them, or how it influences their approach to life

it's kind of a Thing for anime culture to present this really thoughtless, superficial image of the world as it is, and the important thing is learning what's really out there so you don't get caught up in some mass-marketed carddboard-and-resin world designed exclusively for introverted sex-crazed middle-aged men.

I hear traps and transvestites as casual derogatory terms toward transgendered more than actual referencing people cross-dressing in my neck of the woods and thought you were talking about transgenered people.
