WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

Oh, don't worry, I know allll about Ghibli~<3 The only film of theirs I've yet to see is Grave of Fireflies and the newest one. (I refuse to watch GoF until I'm in that terribly sad mood that allows for depressive movie watching. I hate watching things that make me down. I prefer to already be in that 'area' when watching sad movies.)
the last unicorn actually had some of the core animators of ghibli before they were ghibli. speaking of which
re-watching it recently the movie has a really raw feel to it. some of the voice acting is a little off, not in terms of quality or anything like that, but you just don't see these kind of performances in a kids movie. i was actually surprised that I would like this movie after so long, like maybe it was just liked for petty cultism. but no it does hold up, i think it's up there with akira in terms of taking its audience seriously. disney fails in that regard even the classic ones. The only exception i think is like, the first 10 mins of Up*.
I also watched flight of dragons which isn't nearly as good but it has the same charm in animation and feel. also gorebash is a kickass name. i guess theres something about early 80s animations and their oldschool cels that stick with you for ages. why did i become a 3d animator again
*: disney doesn't even win that one since pixar but whatever

You're right, cats are old hat.

The Dover Demon is a variation on the Jersey Devil, usually described as a child sized man with unusually colored skin, either red or burnt orange. Sightings are inconsistent and usually don't last longer than a few months. Small humanoid sightings tend to be evenly scattered worldwide. Investigations generally aren't worthwhile due to hopelessly conflicting evidence.
You want a real cryptid with compelling evidence? Look up the Mothman.
I don't know why I'm interested in the Dover Demon so much. Maybe it's the Inter-Dimensional part.
I already know if this Mothman, pretty interesting actually.
Happy Canada Day!
I'm counting down to getting fucked up on the beach and hopefully being mindfucked by fireworks!

I'm not so excited about the fireworks this year. I get to go to Anime Midwest on July 6th!
I'm attempting to go as a reaper from The World Ends With You.

Well, one point about "The Last Unicorn" is that it isn't directed at any particular demographic. The book wasn't written to go after a particular audience. So the movie wasn't made with the idea of "Oh, let's go after the 'My Little Pony' crowd." Plus, with a cast like Mia Farrow, Jeff Bridges, Alan Arkin, Angela Lansbury, and Christopher Lee, the acting isn't going to sound like it was done by the cast of Highschool Musical.
Then there's the content of the movie. The movie doesn't just entertain. It makes you think. It sends a very strong message out with the fact that Mommy Fortuna has to disguise the Unicorn as a unicorn so that that's what people will see.
I agree about Disney movies and that's always been a complaint. Even where the original story had a tragic ending, Disney has to change it to make it a happy ending.
Earlier tonight, I killed a spider with a copy of Charlotte's Web. I'm not sure the spider perceived the irony.
