WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I never understood the whole 'God intended' argument. For all you know, god intended to have that doctor develop the damn vaccine and for your kid to take it.
This would certainly be my dad's response. "Just because Jesus allowed someone with enough faith to walk on water doesn't mean God never inteded us to build boats." "The bible says to use your talents to help people." And he's, y'know, the professor of biblical interpretation at a Southern Baptist seminary. For context, southern baptists are widely considered the most conservative Christian denomination, and they only have six seminaries (which is where you learn to be a pastor). His seminary is the most conservative of the six. So he is literally responsible for the most conservative ideas about what the bible says in the most conservative churches in America.
So every time I hear about these religious people with these wacky "ultra-conservative" ideas about what the bible says to do, that my dad would say are nuts, I wonder where the hell they're coming from. Is it a cult?
I like that response a lot, too. Especially when people accuse things of being "unnatural", like - nothing in human nature says "we should build a rocket ship and fly it to the moon" but that sure as fuck didn't stop us!

What even is "natural"? When people say un-natural, they're talking about things that were created using natural resources available on Earth and in the universe. We haven't invented or done anything that was "un-natural" yet.
Just cause people couldn't do those things in the time of the Bible doesn't make them un-natural. That's how evolution fucking works.
Yup! That's more or less what I mean. "Unnatural" is a pretty weightless criticism, IMO. It's got no meaning! There's no punch behind it!
Guys, I wanted to let you know about a personal decision I recently made. I don't really feel like discussing it, but I want to put my position out there. Please be respectful. This is a really long post, but please read the whole thing.
I'm taking the brakes off my car. This isn't a rash decision, so please listen up.
A few weeks ago I saw a car accident - two people went through an intersection at the same time. Both slammed on their brakes at the same time and collided. Fortunately no one was seriously injured.
But then it occurred to me - if they had just gone through the intersection, they wouldn't have collided. The brakes CAUSED the accident!
So, I decided to do my own research and what I found was *staggering*: Hundreds of people every year are seriously injured by unnecessary braking. One time, I was driving in the snow and I just lightly tapped my brakes and it caused my car to COMPLETELY LOSE CONTROL. My brakes could have very easily gotten me killed. Even more astoundingly is how often brake pads will warp and distort rotors, causing bumpy rides and squeaky wheels.
And you know what? I also found that decades ago brakes weren't even used! People would control their vehicle's speed with downshifting and engine braking. Maybe it's just coincidence, but back when engine braking was used there were almost no automotive fatalities. There were NEVER brake caused car accidents.
After doing some more digging, I found a nefarious plot - Mechanics: The very people who we trust to work on and care for our cars - get PAID to install and change brakes! You might THINK they care about our safety, or our cars - but they're just in it for the $49.99 brake pad installations.
So I talked to my Mechanic about taking the brakes off my car and I was disgusted by how poorly he treated me. He accused me of being ignorant, when I was the one that looked up how much rotational torque brakes can put on your rotors. He didn't even know how much torque a rotor can take before being warped!!! He said "rotors are designed to be compressed, that it isn't actually a problem" just completely dismissing me.
Then he had the NERVE to say that my personal choice had consequences, that I would affect everyone around me. Well I've had it with him, I'm looking for a new mechanic. The problem is that so many mechanics are bought and paid by the automotive industry that ALL of them are insistent about my car having brakes. Most of them won't even look at my car for other reasons, saying that a brakeless car could cause damage to their shop and other cars. What a bunch of bullshit, they just don't like those who believe in alternative braking techniques.
Now of course big government is getting involved, saying that I *MUST* have brakes. That this isn't just about me, and that I could hurt people. What happened to personal freedom? What happened to liberty?
So all I'm saying is, do your research. Don't just listen to the NTSB and big automotive. I made a personal decision for my family, we just said no to brakes. We'll be using natural remedies like Gravity, and putting our feet on the ground to stop. After all, if that was good enough for me when I was on my bike as a kid, it's good enough for my children in my car.
Please keep the comments respectful!

Hell he definitely put in the resources to develop medicines, so why not use it?
The self-proclaimed Christians can be absolutely nuts sometimes.

Ahh religion. Ever the thorn in modern society's side.
All would be so much better if people just kept their beliefs to themselves. Organized religion is one of the worst things that ever happened to this planet.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with discussing religion, as long as you keep in mind that others' religion might be different, and that you shouldn't try to demand they change to suit your wants.
It's like going in to a store and demanding that stock be changed because your store sells the a different brand and how dare your store be different! Like, okay, glad for you, but that's your store. This is mine. It suits me better to have this brand instead. People like this brand in my store. They sell well and it works for me. Please stop yelling and causing a scene over something so small.
Like, I love discussing religion with people - seeing what differs and what stays the same. Stuff like "Oh, the story of Samson really matches up pretty well against the story of Hercules (am I the only one who noticed that? Yes? Okay :< )" or "Hey, Buddha and Jesus would have been besties for life, don't ya think (that anime/manga*, guys. Really, go watch/read that shit. It is the bomb.)"
*(Saint Young men/Saint Onii-san
Jesus Christ and Gautama Buddha, the founders of Christianity and Buddhism, are living together as roommates in a Tokyo apartment while taking a vacation on Earth. The comedy often involves jokes about Christianity, Buddhism, and all things related, as well as the main characters' attempts to hide their identities and understand modern society in Japan.)

My problem is not with people discussing beliefs in private, my problem is with a religion being preached to hundreds of thousands of people. If many people are part of a religion, there are bound to be radical morons among them. If they are among people who share their beliefs, they will become more radical and start believing that radical view, which was not part of the original belief, is now part of the doctrine of this religion, and that leads to them doing stupid shit like exposing their children to measles or shooting up Charlie Hebdo.

Now I am thinking about why aren't there any more people voting on the 3rd round of the Battledome event.
