I'M HAVING THIS WEIRD PHENOMENON IN2K3

I built a town, anf when I played the game, after putting the start position, the hero just couldn't move. Then i've put the only 2 events to parallel, instead of automatic, and my hero can walk all over the place as if I was holding down the Ctrl key. Of course, I've checked the passability of the chipset. The only things that stop him are the charsets. I have no idea what's going on. The 2 events concern meteorological effects and screen tint.( I've never had that, but then I never used those events.)
Hmm, have you tried checking the Directional Pass on the tileset editor too? If that doesn't work, copy and paste your events into another map and test. If THAT doesn't work, it may just be the map as an error itself. Try recreating it (if it's not too much effort) and retry, you also might want to double check events and see if anything prevents the character from moving. I.E an unfinished event or move event or wait command.
Are you sure the "base" floor your character is walking on isn't part of a ceiling?
Also, you might want to try to re-import the set.
I don't know why, but RPG Maker 2003 seems to clash with certain events, even if they are parallel processes.

Thanks, I'll first try reimporting the set (my idea is there's something wrong with it), It's not the events, I forgot to mention I deleted both and the same thing happened and the floor is a floor, at least it works the same on grass for example.
Parallel processes can have a tendency to make your game grind to a halt because they repeatedly execute thier commands (or, something like that). Anyway, try putting an "erase event" command (page 3 of commands, right column, toward the bottom) after the PP events' other commands and see if the problem still happens.
It was actually those weird numbers on the chipset from 1 to 13 I think, which are normally all just 1s...?
Anyways problem solved, thanks you both(maybe I'll also do the "erase event", to make sure!).

These numbers are the Terrain IDs you can set to tiles. Event wise it helps make custom stuff such as playing a splashing sound effect when the hero walks in water, for instance.
In the Terrain tab of the database, you can check the boxes to let the hero pass on this type of terrain, as well as let the vehicles pass or land (or maybe I'm mistaken about the hero but whatever)
The problem was probably that the tiles were set to a terrain your hero can't pass on.

Actually, no, not quite solved : on the second layer no ways to make him walk behind the trees or on the small bush?! (While he does perfectly behind the lamp posts.) Oh, I forgot, no ways also to stop him walking on the water. I'm not sure I know what you mean, Avee, but I'll check.
In the tileset editor in the database, have you set the Passibility for the Lower Layers' water tiles (usually the first top left hand square) to the X symbol?
Also, make sure the object you want to walk behind in the Upper Layer has a STAR over it. Also, make sure the counter flags in the upper layer are all Unticked (small square dots).

Maybe your RPG Maker's keyboard cache is stuck. Run http://share.cherrytree.at/showfile-2704/kbdreset.exe once and see if it works then.
Thanks, Cherry, I did get "Keyboard reset" but it did not change anything. Here's the chipset, in case some one had the courage and patience to look into it :http://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/4243/locker/3514_1071672044.png
Edit : maybe I forgot to add I'm doing this under Ubuntu.(GNU/Linux), but I never had that problem before.
