IRON MAN

The film is about Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), a billionaire industrialist and master engineer who is captured by terrorists in Afghanistan. Ordered to build a missile for them, Stark uses his resources instead to build a powered exoskeleton to make his escape. Returning to the United States, Stark improves his armor and becomes the technologically advanced superhero Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow plays his personal assistant Pepper Potts, Terrence Howard plays jet pilot James Rhodes, and Jeff Bridges plays Obadiah Stane.
I just saw this film Saturday. And was awed by the special effects. I like the direction it's going in and await the future of the series. What do you guys think about it, and/or superhero films in general?

I seen this today. I totally enjoyed it despite not being much of an Iron Man fan as a kid. Robert Downey Jr. did a superb job and everything was really well done. The scene after the credits is worth its weight in gold... I will assume all the upcoming Marvel movies will have them (Hulk, Thor, Captain America).
Aw, man, I missed something after the credits?
Even though I'm a decently big comics geek, I've never read much Iron Man. I loved the movie, mostly because I loved Tony Stark in it, but I have no idea how true to the original character it was. If he's like that in the comics, I totally need to start reading them. It might be my favorite of the superhero comic movies I've seen.

Yes, i saw this film just the other day and it was awesome. I saw the thing that happened after the credits. I actually liked the ending music so i stayed there to listen to it. Had a good cast of actors as well so the film was naturally gonna be good.
This was the best superhero movie I've seen since.... uh... Terminator 2 :X I know i know sheesh -_-)
I hear they're planning more Spiderman movies and theres a new Hulk coming out?
Not to mention 2 new X-men movies? Jesus, Marvel is killing the movie industry nowadays...
Let's hope Dark Knight is worth watching...

I hadn't heard about two new X-Men movies, but I know the Wolverine spinoff's on the way. Which I would be totally uninterested in, except that I heard that Ryan Reynolds is playing Deadpool in it. Which is actually kind of a shame because I kept holding out hopes they'd do a Deadpool movie out right (and had heard Ryan Reynolds was in talks to play him), but a little Deadpool's better than no Deadpool!
Now we just need a Great Lakes Initiative/Champions/Whatever movie.
I hear this movie was incredible, but I haven't seen it yet. I'll have to check it out when I go home on break.
I was highly impressed by the movie. It didn't really follow any cheesy superhero cliche shit.
I did like the humor in the movie, and apparently Marvel is working on some large scale project, connecting all these superhero movies together. The Avengers? Something like that. I didn't like the main villian, didn't understand his motive. The bald brown guy woulda been a better one, cause he HAD a motive (Stark was killing all of his people, thus vengence. Old white guy... he just went insane? Lame.)
(Hoping none of the members are in the Federal Department of Criminal Justice.)
I just copped the bootleg today. It's almost hard to tell it is one watching it.
I'll be reliving this film once again this afternoon!

Because Ironman is the first Marvel movie that was written, produced, etc. entirely by Marvel with no outside intervention, it was as good as I could expect it to be. That is, really fucking good.
I'm also very glad that they are making more. With the new Hulk movie, the Avengers movie, and everything in between. It's going to be a really good thing for the movie industry. Also, Ironman 2 is apparently scheduled for 2010.

Well guys I went to this last night and it's the worst movie I've seen in a long time! All of the starring characters were either bad actors (such as the antagonist) or bad actors that are also unlikeable (such as Downy Jr. himself). The action scenes were pretty boring and Jesus I really hate the helpless girl in high heels saves the day by hitting the antagonist with a vase style of plot resolution.
Like seriously guys I don't know what you like in action movies or whatever but this movie was garbage.

Obadiah didn't just go insane. The movie potrayed him as your evil businessman who is more concerned about profits than ethics. Obviously Stark might take umbrage with this ever he had ever awoken from his drunken stupor, so Obadiah decides to have him assassinated instead. This, of course, backfires, but also leads to the Iron Man prototype, which could give Obadiah even more profits. He is already working on pushing Stark out legally when Pepper discovers Obadiah was behind the plot to kill Stark.
At this point, Obadiah realizes he is screwed and begins to make some desperate decisions, such as stealing Stark's artifical heart to power his prototype and attempting to kill the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents so he can escape. Then he gets caught up in a tussle with Iron Man.
Not sure how that is "he just went insane". Did you expect him to turn himself in? Have his day in court?

It is well known that you have no taste in movies, music or videogames, so we will just ignore you. Also, I have never heard Jeff Bridges called a bad actor before...
Oh also I thought it was kind of trite that the two antagonists were terrorists and big business and that the (bad) social commentary was way too transparent and hollow to mean anything.

I always go to action flicks looking for meaning.
Come on man I could hardly care less about the deeper meaning in an action movie but when an action movie PRETENDS to have a topical and interesting theme I have to criticize how topical or interesting its themes are.
