ONE OF THOSE "GIMMICK" CHARACTERS

Pages: 1
So, the other day I was thinking about a "gimmick" character. You know, like Pip from Chrono Cross or berserkers. Things like that. Then, to my surprise I actually thought of something that seemed interesting.
My idea:
The character I had in mind would pull his stats from the best stats of the other characters. Of course, there are problems if I stop there. If people tie in stats, it doesn't matter because it's collective. EX:
Typical RPG Warrior: Att. 50
Not so typical mage: Att. 50
They tied, but since it's collective rather than taking all stats from one person, it just takes the best stats of the party. I'm thinking for magic/techs, it would have about 5 of its own and then one most used action of the party.
So, how's it sound? Overpowered? Any suggestions to improve, any ideas how to make it possible, general thoughts? Please, tell me what you think.

I'd love to help but after reading it 3 times, I still don't understand a thing! No worry, I'm no expert... and this post is totally useless!
Class...........HP....ATK....INT
Warrior.........40....25.....10
Magician......20....10.....30
Gimmick......40....25.....30

Is it right?
Right.
And say that the most used move(For everyone collectively) is "Fire"
The Gimmick would have its 5 attacks and "Fire".
Though, if it's "Attack", the gimmick is pretty much screwed.

(Thx Avee) Got it, sounds good but it'll be overpowerful, what do you want to do with it?
Well, I was thinking of some way to nerf it. Like making its stats go down by 1 after each battle, though that kind of sounds iffy. Plus, it would mainly be with an obvious support character for a lot of the game. It would still draw power from the strongest of course. Any ideas as to how to nerf it a little?
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

So kind of like a cross between FF5 mime and FF6 mime? Cool, potentially.

The average of everyone else's stats instead of the highest of everyone else's stats would give him stats that are less overpowered. Alternatively you could make his abilities all have significant downsides. (Hopefully downsides that are more interesting than just being weak enough that he deals the same damage as anyone else would)

Not crazy about the "most used ability" idea, I don't like the idea of spending the entire game worrying about only ever using my strongest skills and trying to use all the other ones evenly so none of them ever go above the strongest one, especially if I have limited MP resources, etc. Maybe just let the player pick one ability from another character to give him. Or let him use the most recently cast skill. Or give him a skill that lets him choose one party member to temporarily learn all the abilities of, but he forgets them at the end of the battle (so that you have to decide in each battle whether learning all those skills is worth spending a turn). Or just give him his own abilities, though that doesn't fit the theme as well.
Those are all great ideas (especially the percentage idea) and I am leaning toward letting them just choose the ability he gets. Maybe learning other peoples' abilities temporarily as well. Originally, the "most used move thing" was so that you'd have to think about how you're gonna go about it with out going over OR if you prefer, just don't worry about it--it's not going to affect him too terrbly much and an "everchanging move" could really make the a battle more fun if you hadn't been counting. (Or maybe I should just give him an ACTUAL everchanging move?)
So, any one else? I'd love to hear what other people think--I'd like to bring this to its full potential!

I assure you I'm no where NEAR as STUPID as one might think.

Well in terms of a changing move, why not just make that one part not based on what the party has or uses? Maybe do it, so that it's a random thing? Click it, and it'll choose, randomly, between every skill, ability, spell in the game, and do it?

This way he, say he is over powered. But the Random spell will keep him down. Say you're level 99 with this guy, best stat choices you could get. You click random and it uses a weak spell on the enemy.
Seems like a good idea, I'll be sure to try that.
