I'm aware that there's a lot of files for this game, and yes, you do need most of them (Touhou Fantasy.rar, all music files including those in the Missing Music folder, and just the latest Update patch. Won't need RTP or CommandRTP if you can already play 2k3 games). Hopefully the amount of files (and the start of the game) doesn't deter you TOO much from playing it ^^;;

Yeah, I've been told to use .OGG format, but replacing all of the files in-game and reuloading all of that music is going to be a tad annoying I must admit. I need to find someone who'd be willing to do at least the MPG > OGG conversion for me since I'm relatively busy in the database. And yeah, once I release full game it will more than likely be one file (well, the game itself will be without the music, but the music will be one big file since well...it's going to be big regardless).
EDIT - I actually GOT Audacity recently, but never tinkered much with it (and again, database stuff is taking up most of my time atm). Most likely due to how many files I'll have to convert too...
I did leave debug room in for NOW (will probably password protect that later), so ignore that if you will.
I'm also currently updating the game with a bunch of goodies too, so expect update patches here and there. I'll let you know about them in PM or something if I ever do get these uploaded...assuming nothing breaks in them first or whatnot.

No, I mean 2k3 graphical quality just doesn't call for MP3 quality music. It's like matching Mozart with greasy pepperoni pizza. They don't suit each other.
Midi's are perfectly fine.
And yes... when you move on to the other makers, .OGG is a good choice to make. Filesize is often what tips the scale on whether someone will play your game or not. Sad, but true.

I don't know of anything that can convert MP3 to Midi sadly so I'm kinda stuck with MP3 right now. I probably COULD do with less songs but I wouldn't know what to cut at all (each boss has their own theme mostly, and well...it just doesn't SEEM right without it tbh...that's the big problem ^^; ).
