VIDEO RECORDING FREEWARE?

Anyone know of a good freeware video recorder? I'd like to take some video of some gameplay in various projects. Not sure if this is the right forum for it, but none of the others seemed to fit, either.
Try Fraps. The demo version might place a watermark on your video, tho.

The demo version of FRAPs can only record 30s at a time.
Yeah, I used to use something to record video for the Breath of Fire II project I'm a part of, but for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the program, and it was on an old computer so now I can't get it again argh.

I tried some other ones but the videos are coming out terrible.
Is there a Camtasia free trial?
I bought it and it works great for me.
Try out CamStudio. It's relatively lightweight and easy to use.
U can also try "BB Flashback Express" if u want. It's by Blueberry Software and i adore it.
It's very easy to use, u have a lot of options, and the quality is incredible-- u can choose exactly how u want it or by how much to speed it up. Exporting is also very easy. :)

i did tutorials where i recorded myself drawing as well as colouring... the videos turned out very impressive.
Question is, can we get these 'free' recording programs to record from speakers rather than from microphone which leads to nasty audio/video sync errors. Ever since I upgraded from XP to Win 7, that speaker option stopped working completely in any program I've tried.
