Hey,
I was looking at the source of the mainpage and I noticed this:
You should probably change the doctype to loose/transitional and then it might work better in browsers. You'd be surprised.
Also:
I am not like pro-IE or anything, they just have it on the PCs in university and that's the only thing we can use.

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">

If you knew how much money I earnt working for a web deisgn company last summer you wouldn't be calling me a nerd :)
Also, another annoying thing. I think that the text is too small on this site and that it should be made more readable. Having 10px text on the forums is just hard to read and it decreases the enjoyment of reading the site.
Go on crack open the css and give it a fiddle

I think the text size is fine. If you have a problem with it then either do the CTRL scroll to zoom in, or use magnifier.
author=Eddie link=topic=1101.msg16112#msg16112 date=1210586611Actually it won't affect anything at all. That additional information is not used by any browsers to determine rendering. It is simply telling validation utilities how to properly validate the page.

IE6, 7, and 8 all ignore the additional DOCTYPE information. Their renderers simply check for the element's existance and switch between Standards and Quirks mode. You can get the same effect of going into IE's Standards mode with a completely empty <!DOCTYPE> element.
Oh ok, I had a problem once that because the doctype wasn't correct IE6 was being a total asshat at drawing CSS, once changed it fixed it but you never know I totally might have imagined that situation entirely ::)
TOTALLY might have imagined that situation ENTIRELY.
two words meaning basically the same thing. I found that slightly annoying to read.
