I have an idea that should make it a lot better and easier for a starting menu, not a main menu, but a starting menu. In this case, the starting menu is sort of like Sonic 2's start screen of 1 player, 2 player, or Options, or maybe Pokemon's section where you select your name.
After you begin the game, a menu is suppose to appear and with the menu there also should be an icon. In this menu, the icon is actually your player, as to make not multiple pictures, but multiple events. After you select one of the options, you get a name AND a power that only that name has. Plus, the final option(choose name)would allow you to put names in that work like a pass code, maybe for cheats or extra character names and power to that character. But there's a problem with this, how would you find out which character has which power, a description of the power is too long, and the people need to know what you do to get that power to work. I know I'll also need common events for this. And I know this may need a lot of work, just like the normal menu that uses a lot of pictures and such.
Exactly what I want are 4 options, 3 being names, the 4th being a "Custom Name" option. And when you move the cursor to certain options, it will start a sound effect that is a voice telling you what the name is, and what the power is. Then you move to the next option, and the last sound effect ends, and a new one begins. And when you select the option though, the dialogue will end, and the actual game begins.
I know this sounds cheap, but I believe it's a good idea. Besides, there's an easy way, and a right way. But with the right imagination, even the easy way can be the right way :3

what? This sounds like a type of thing for a sonic-pokemon mix or something. :? Maybe if you made a mockup, it would be clearer to me.

Oh, those were my examples, sorry about that!
What I meant was that the player would have to be the cursor, made it more fluid and easier to make for me.

Cherry made a patch to skip the default title screen. Maybe you can try that. Otherwise this is impossible in rm2k3.
