i know this is too early for this but let's try to think ahead
you all know what wii U can do right... but don't you all thing that it possible to have rpg maker for wii u because use can use the controller to make the map type in some info and many more... and also they can make it in 3D or in 2D if they wish... right... so i think that rpg maker will be coming to wii u because of this (and also hope it will released it in us than the ds version) but... it may much cooler and fun if it ended up in wii U... but i kinda like if it ended up in wii u... and added new function... like game distribution via sd card or wifi download and also can handle unlimited games ,not like the ds version that only can handle few games and also since the wii u is touch support they can also add add-on so it can use all of the wii u had to offer like mini games that use gyroscope or special battle system that use the gyroscope or something you know using all the wii u feature to make a very awesome rpg games like never before...

Unlike anything we've ever seen in 2k3, XP, or VX Ace? Very doubtful. Console RPG Makers are always garbage with crap features and awful support. PC RPG Makers will always come out on top. Always.

well let's see about that if they will plan to make it...
What I would like to see for Wii U is kind of the Neverwinter Nights idea on a home console. Could probably be fun to have one with the wii u controller as the gamemaster designing a dungeon while other players in the room run it through.

I know similar things have been done in an online environment but I don't think that there's been a lot of that stuff done "locally". Making the game as the other players play through it.

I also see how the touch interface for the wii u could make it simpler to create levels and whatnot in games. So I don't doubt some games will come with decent level editors and whatnot. I mean we already have stuff like littlebigplanet. But with the touch interface it's probably even more intuitive and simple to use!

Of course all of this is only tangentially related to "rpg maker on the wii u". Rpg maker is generally horrible anyway. But there are other options!
Very doubtful. The reason? Let's consider how powerful the PS3 is. People have been clamoring for an RPG Maker on that console since it's initial release, and it never happened. If it didn't happen for them, I don't see it happening for the Wii U, either. And then there is the DS and DS+. Both are pretty limited compared to the PC versions, and neither were released outside of Japan.

Console RPG Makers (as they appear on the PC) are not very popular with the western audience. If it were released, it'd probably only be released in Japan. Also, while people want an RPG Maker for these system, they don't want what EB and Degica are offering. In other words, they want a very powerful system that can let them code in HD/3D quality, with the ability to add online multi-player support, and utilize all the features of a console. Enterbrain and Degica have always been about the ease of their product, a simple maker capable of making simple 2D games. Until EB/Degica ventures into the HD/3D world, there's a slim chance RPG Maker will make it beyond the PC and handheld versions.

That's not to say it won't happen, but probably not. However, if EB/Degica doesn't do it, perhaps another company can take the plunge. I don't know. I just choose not to hold my breath.
Wii U? Never heard of this..? xD I don't keep up to date on alot of things, this system in particular~ B3

Anyway, yeah console rpg makers compared to the PC ones aren't exactly, well..let's look at the hugely epic amount of resources we can find online, and compare one another~ I tried the first rpg maker on the psx, and it was pretty damn limited, and when I say limited I mean "Limited" in terms of stuff available or it.

On the other hand, the ps2 rpg makers have 3d graphics which are quite nice, and some of the stuff within 'em aren't half bad from what I've seen. So, if they do decide to make an rpg maker for this, then by all means, though seeing as they haven't brought over the two DS ones, I can't say that they'll be bringing it over here anytime soon.

For the list of all Rpg Makers from the past and present, just check it out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPG_Maker
I don't think they would make one, but if they do, it can't be EB/Degica, because they only made the PS1/PS2 RPG makers, and EB made the PC ones. No one has touched upon a Nintendo console for RPG maker in a while! I mean the first and so far ONLY Nintendo console to have RPG maker was a Super Famicom, apparently, and I don't know who made that, and I bet that company has died or merged with someone else by now. They didn't even release that in America.
But it really is interesting to think that they would do this again, but I've played the PS1 RPG maker(only by emulators though -_- I never owned one...) and MAN was it hard for me to even start it!
So yeah, don't keep your hopes up for this. ^-^

Agetec handled PS1/PS2 RPG Makers, not EB or Degica. And DS is owned by Nintendo, so saying the only Nintendo console to have RM is Super Famicon is wrong. DS and DS+, and also Gameboy Advance all had versions of RM, but none ever released to the US. Also there were 2 other RM's available for PS1/PS2, but none of these were released outside of Japan either.

The fact is, there are quite a few console RPG Makers, but the only ones that ever reached us were the ones Agetec managed (for PS1 and 2). Unless there is a high demand for it, console RPG Makers probably will not be released outside of Japan.
