It'd make sense if there were only 2. 3 Mafias in a game of 9 would make it very broken.

Apparently Garfield was "self-aligned" or independent. YM I'm not sure if it's a great idea to reveal roles, and revealing yourself as bulletproof basically told the mafia who not to kill.
@zeuzio, they will have to be hell of an actors if they are faking all this, also I have no thrust even if I am saying the thruth of my investigation, but of one thing I am sure mirror is mafia.
