ANYONE CARE TO HELP WITH MAKING PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR SPRITES OR TILES?

Hi. I'm making a game where the main character is a parnormal investigator / editor of a paranormal magazine. I'm not really experienced at doing pixel are so I wanted to put up a request if anyone wants to make some sprites or tilesets for a paranormal investigator or kind of a private investigator who handles those kind of cases. THIS LINK has a list for what should be in paranormal investigator's kit.

I'm working with RPG Maker XP. I've posted some maps I've made of the headquarters for the main character's magazine, which is called 'The Second Man'.. it'd take a lot to go into why it's called that, but it has to do with Adam Kadmon from Kaballah and the tree of life. Anyway, off topic. Feel free to make a sprite for a poster of the Kaballah tree of life though, that'd be awesome!

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

You currently have a mix of tiles with outlines around the objects and tiles without; this is a really important distinction between two very different styles of 2D graphics, and you need to figure out which of the two to use so people know what to give you.

Also, these maps are more than a little bad. The guy's living room is the size of a gymnasium. I wonder if anyone will really work on custom graphics for you if that's really how you're going to be using them. You may have more luck collecting tilesets and sprites than asking for people to make them.

If you want to go for the non-outlined, more realistic look, you should download my RMXP game Iniquity & Vindication. Feel free to use the tilesets I've got in there (leave the rest of the graphics alone though please). I only have a few tilesets, but they're massive ones. I know they'll work alongside what you've got because they started out as some of the same factory/urban tiles as you're using and I've been building them up to match the style of those. (There's also a lot of junk in the tilesets that doesn't match, because I plan to edit those tiles later. Oh well. Hopefully you can sort through it.) It won't be enough to make your whole game, but I hope it'll help. I like modern settings in RPGs and I like paranormal investigators, so this is a project I'd like to see come together.
I'll look into downloading your game. I didn't think about that difference between tiles with outlines and ones without, I'll start to think about that when I pick tiles.

As far as the maps not being very good, well, these are some of the first maps I ever made. You said that the map was too big to be a living room, well actually it's supposed to be a headquarters building for the magazine that he runs, it's not where he lives. It's the base of operations, for both the magazine and the paranormal investigation business. I mapped it so that you go into the building into the main area, which is not shown, but it's further down on the first image I posted, and then even though you can see the other rooms, once you go through the door to the medical room or the audio examination room (the 2nd and 3rd images above) you get transferred to the seperate maps. So, it's supposed to be a big open area, but then it splits off into other separate, smaller maps.

Thanks for responding though, I'll definitely look into downloading your game and checking it out. Also, I actually have collected a large number of tilesets from around the web but I thought it would be cool to have some original ones, and plus I haven't found any that specifically fit what I'm looking for, really.

Unless they're playing basketball in the office, it still doesn't need to be anywhere near that big. It only needs to be big enough to hold all the furniture. If they really had nothing to put in the room, they would move into a much smaller office to save on rent. I mean, that bedroom in the upper right corner of the last image is as big as the first floor of my house, not counting the garage.

I definitely wouldn't keep a garbage can in front of a chalkboard, seems stinky.
And yeah, it looks off because there is waay too much open space.
make compact, people like that.

You have given me much to ponder. : )

Yeah. Thanks for the feedback both of you. I didn't consider these maps finished or anything. I always work on the whole thing at once so I've got a bunch of maps that are all there in theory but aren't exactly polished.

But I'm still looking for pixel artists.

Fix your mapping skills, then the artists will want to do art for you to use. When people work for free, they want to make sure their work gets used for something they can be proud of.

Alternately you could pay someone, I guess.
