Hello rpgmaker.net. community. I am currently looking for game testers to help me test my game Defender of Alefguard. The game itself is finished, I am just trying to polish it.
- Music in Symphony
- A crafting system used to create armor, weapons, and items.
- 3 different classes.
- An option to change battle music.
- A turn based battle system with animated enemies.
- Original Maps with new places to explore.
- A change in the hero's appearance which depends on what armor and weapons are equipped.
- A quest log to keep track of all quests.
- A dungeon lighting system.
Defender of Alefguard is a fantasy role playing game made with RPG Maker VX Ace and is based off of the original Dragon Warrior for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It features maps from Dragon Warrior using the default tilesets of RPG Maker VX Ace and modified sprites the original game as well as music and sound effects.

Story
The Hero assumes the role of the descendant of Edrick, a legendary warrior who's valiant deeds will be told for generations. Edrick brought peace back to the land by defeating evil beings with a ball of light. After peace was restored, Edrick gave the ball of light to King Leoric, who unified Alefguard. After many generations, the ball of light was stolen from King Leoric XVI at Tantangle Castle by the evil Dragonlord, plunging Alefguard into chaos once again. Many brave warriors tried to recover the ball of light from the Dragonlord at Charlocke Castle, but none have returned. A man named Mahitta predicted that "One day, a descendent of the valiant Edrick shall come forth to defeat the Dragonlord."
Edrick's descendant travels to Tantangle Castle after hearing rumors that King Leorik XVI had requested his presence. Upon arriving, King Leoric reveals to him that he is indeed the descendant of the legendary warrior Edrick, and requests that he saves his daughter, Princess Gwaelen from the clutches of evil. Before embarking on his journey, King Leoric tells Edrick's descendant to retrieve 3 items from chests in his Chambers, and to speak with as many people as possible in order to obtain information that will aid him in his quest.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Here might be a helpful hint to you. If you're looking for beta testers, make a blog, rather than a help request.
I did both, and the blog gave me many more testers than the help request did. ;)

I don't care about your game, so I'm going to review your "features."
REALLY THE CRAFTING SYSTEM LETS YOU CREATE THINGS WOW
You're welcome.
DeathShrimpYou made the music in Symphony? All of the music was hidden away in Symphony? Nobody cares.
- Music in Symphony
DeathShrimp
- A crafting system used to create armor, weapons, and items.

DeathShrimpThat's... not very many? Unless you had just one guy, I guess, but idk unless it plays like Lightning in Dissidia 012 or something this sounds like "welp time to be a fighter for the entire game for the HP, because i'm positive the other two options are rogue and mage"
- 3 different classes.
DeathShrimpIf you read this on the back of a box on a video game would this make you buy it? Answer: BUT THE MUSIC IS IN SYMPHONY
- An option to change battle music.
DeathShrimpk, you have no screenshots/videos but i'm sure they're just DQ3 rips. yawn.
- A turn based battle system with animated enemies.
DeathShrimphey guy guess what every non-fangame game ever has
- Original Maps with new places to explore.
DeathShrimpBUT THIS IS EARLY DRAGON QUEST AND NOT DQIX YOU ARE RUINING THE SERIES
- A change in the hero's appearance which depends on what armor and weapons are equipped.
DeathShrimpdo you know how fucking standard this is in video games that are not RM*
- A quest log to keep track of all quests.
DeathShrimpI WILL GIVE YOU HALF A POINT FOR THIS. I loved having torches in the early DQ years, and that in the 3D games the MC runs around dungeons with a torch automatically in his hand makes me pretty damn happy - BUT WHY IS IT ON THE BACK OF YOUR "BOX," SO TO SPEAK BECAUSE NOBODY CARES THAT MUCH
- A dungeon lighting system.
You're welcome.

I thought a gamepage didn't exist. At which point, I would have suggested making one. However, since one does exist, this comment makes more sense.
Might check it out, since I'm on something of a creative lull.
Craze... that post would be justified if this guy was trying to sell his game or something, but he's just some guy making a game for fun. No need to treat him like a douchebag (since there isn't much reason to say he is at the moment). Take a look at his game, then look at some of the other shit that gets posted around here. I looked at about 2 mins of his gameplay footage and this looks way better than most games posted on RMN. I probably wouldn't play it because I never played Dragon Warrior (I have vague memories of it but not much else), but it doesn't look bad. Chill out man. =\
That said, I might look at it later if I get really bored or something.

It's a problem with, like, 98% of RM* "~FEATURES~" lists. It pisses me off and shows me that the developer is focused on advertising/developing SYSTEMZ instead of, y'know, a coherent and possibly unique game.
Actually, a lot of starters are quite happy, when they make a system (or make a downloaded script work)...
Few years ago, I was happy, when I finished my game systems... though i never advertised them.
But I agree with OmegaHunter, about the quality of this, and other games around here...
Everyone is right here... DeathShrimp should also redo this list, when he actually submits his game, because it doesnt make much sense, to advertise these "features".

Deathshrimp, if you want to hire game testers, post it on your game page. You have a game page, use it. Post it under "Blogs".
Advertising your game on forums is not allowed as per the rules.

He's just doing what everyone else is doing. I'm sure that, being new to the community, he looked at other games to see what's generally accepted. I know I did. You did too, when you were the newbie you now hate so much. This is a pretty normal game profile and doesn't merit any ire (though he should've read the rules and made a profile. big deal).

I was trying to see if I did any better for my lists for my games, to see if what I listed were really features.
You judge.
GAME 1:
-22 character classes (12 base classes, 4 hero classes, 3 secret classes, 3 master classes)
-TONS of game content and sidequests
-Classic NES-era and SNES-era RPG gameplay
-Great music
-Multi-party switching system (like Kefka's Tower in FFVI!)
-Multi-party tactical battles (at least 5 of them!)
-Massive world map
-Fun
GAME 2:
- Dragon Warrior NES-style theme
- Several outside of battle skills, including lockpicking, hiding, running, pickpocketing and persuading.
- A simple Alignment tracking system
- Random monster drops and chest contents
- On-map traps and monsters
- Unique Skill trees for the 7 character classes
- Fatigue-based Running System
