so, when making a title srceen for a project(i use Rm2k3), I can Find cool images and make cool titles, but when its time to upload i convert it to 16-bit or whatever the color scheem is, and it destroys the image. so my question is, how does one make Professional looking title screens?

Here's how I usually do it.

If the image was orinally saved as .png open it up in Paint and save it as a 24-bit bitmap. Then do whatever it is that wants to be done and just save it. Now, I don't know if you have photofiltre, but since I do, I open the image. I click on the image tab and then click Mode and Indexed Color.

Click on 256 color and unclicked the Diffusion box. Then save it back to .png and there you have it. It keeps it's originally beauty with the other stuff that was added by you.
The core issue here is that you are using images which contain more than 255 colors. These images look cool, but rm can't handle them. When you decrease the color depth, many of the original colors are lost. Programs like Irfanview will usually do a good job of creating the palette when you index, but 255 is still going to be your limit.
i already know about the 255 color part of it, just how do you guys make them look so perfesanal? like is there a trick or are you guy all just great computer artist
Are you using photoshop? Most people make there title screens in that as the program can do just about everything.

Haha I created mine in Sony Vegas, its a video editing program, but its got so many effects you can use it to mess around with pictures too xD Didn't turn out to bad either. You could always ask someone to make one for you.

But Infranview is a godsend with keeping quality pretty high. Try it.
