Posts

Prize ::..
- GRAND PRIZE: 1 digital copy of Torchlight II, gifted from kentona via Steam ($20 value).
- Consolation Prize: 1 digital copy of Torchlight, gifted from kentona via Steam ($15 value).
- More Consolation Prizes: 1 of 3 digital copies of Torchlight, gifted from GreatRedSpirit via Steam ($15 value).
To receive the prize, you must have a Steam account and friend me (my username is kentonagbone), so that I can gift you the game. If you do not want the prize (or already own it), I will send you $20 (or $15) via PayPal instead. (This option requires that you have a Paypal account, of course). Failing that, I will donate $20 (or $15) to a good cause in your name.
Rules ::..
- Reviews submitted are still subject to RMN's submission rules
- The review must be accepted
- The review must be submitted between October 1st, 2012 and October 31st, 2012
- The review must be for an accepted, public game on RMN
- One entry per user*
*The point isn't to promote quantity. Take your time to write a good review. Multiple reviews submitted DOES NOT mean multiple entries into the raffle. You get 1 entry whether you write 1 or 100 reviews.
People who have already had a review accepted in the month of October so far are already submitted to the raffle!
In true RMN fashion, I will conduct the draw using the random number generator of RPG Maker VX Ace on November 2nd, 2012. The winners will be announced and I will contact the winners via PM to arrange the gifting of the game.
Good luck!
UPDATE!
More Consolation Prizes: 1 of 3 digital copies of Torchlight, gifted from GreatRedSpirit via Steam ($15 value). No money or anything though - if you pass on this prize, it will simply go back into the pool for someone else to win.
Hngh! Why are there so many good events with prizes I want jammed into one busy month?! O_O

I think I have like three digital copies of Torchlight 1 when I bought the 4-pack bundle that are collecting internet dust so I can add those to the prize list. At work so I can't confirm the amount but I'll do so when I get home.
e: But no money, just video gaems

:)
I bought the 4-pack bundle and received 3 copies of TL2 and 3 copies of TL to gift away. The 4th person who was my intended recipient didn't want it, so I threw it up for raffle here on RMN!

Maybe this will give me the drive to finally write that review of Super Doki Doki World :/
author=CrazeDid you buy the game yet? If not, write a review.
Great idea, kentona. ONE MAN'S DIGITAL TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN'S DIGITAL BUTTON CLICKING SIMULATION.

Yeah, I still got all three. The benefit of organizing a four pack purchase and everybody else already owning a copy!
I did lose all of my useless Valve coupons I was collecting though, not sure when those expired :(

I've never heard of Torchlight. What kinda game is it? Rpg? If it's online I couldn't play it anyways.
It is an acton hack n slash rpg in the vein of Diablo. in fact the team that made it are ex Blizzard lead devs and project managers and music guy and the guy who made Fate. if you liked Diablo II youll love Torchlight 1 & 2. TL was single player only and TL2 is offline as well but now supports multiplayer (LAN or internet iirc)
Hm i may have to do someting then, thog I' don't have Steam right now.
I'm intrigued by the concept of winning real world prizes for writing reviews - I expect you'll see a lot of more quality reviews come in. It's apparent you've worked pretty hard to get a review system functioning properly so people can find what they want. This would be something interesting to experiment, if there was a quarterly prize of sorts for the best rated reviews (a double take, as it were). Currently there is only a way to view reviews but not agree or disagree with the reviewers take, besides commenting and making a snide remark or a glowing praise of the review itself.
Being recognized would likely present incentive to people who normally would stay quiet to become intrepid reviewers, much like Amazon's system. And while maker score does go up with added reviews, when you are dealing with veterans with maker scores in the thousands, it's hard to get recognition if you are new to the community and don't really want to invent a persona which leaves people aghast or amazed.
Perhaps even just rewarding a top rated reviewer with a special banner next to their name or putting a special section on their profile for special achievements earned in the community. I think I've also said this before, but being able to receive additional maker score points by reviewing an unreviewed game, where reviewing reviewed games does earn maker points but not nearly as much as a game with much less reviews.

I am going to (eventually) add automatically earned achievements for things like # of reviews/articles/tutorials etc... One day...
Thanks for the feedback.
ALSO, FINAL DAY IS TODAY.
