Not entirely sure how to go about and do this but... here (second post, daunting)!
While I was working on my own personal project over the past year, I found a need for battler graphics unique to the game but couldn't find a means to acquire them. So I plopped down and decided to draw them myself while trying to follow the general RTP battler artstyle found in RPG Maker VX to the best of my ability (I have no idea who the original artist/s is/are). Next thing I know, I'm drawing an original roster of context-less bad guys.
I'm not too confident with how the project is working out, but it certainly was a good learning exercise regarding character/monster design. So I decided that I'm willing to share what I've drawn so far with the community for free use within your own projects should any of you find anything fanciable, because I believe that can be a much more rewarding use of these graphics.
Keep in mind that I've only tested most of these in RPG Maker VX so I'm not too sure how they'll appear in other default battle system layouts, both in and out of VX. Shadows may be off, wonky perspective, bits of dirty colors may be transparently floating around etc.. Lemme know which battlers have these problems and I'll fix them promptly.
This is a learning experience both in drawing and publicly presenting this kind of stuff, and I'm willing to accept any general requests (hey, draw more robots! etc.) from this point on if the thread ever takes off. This includes a shot at side-view battlers and different genres which I'm willing to get my feet wet with.
I'll start off with some vaguely medieval fantasy humanoid monsters then compile the 25+ battlers I have finished in a .rar file if there's interest.

Wow, I really like these. The fellknight is my favorite. They've got a lot of personality and motion, which is pretty much essential for a great front-view battle system.
Keep up the great work. =3

These are "Really" good, especially that enraged furnace looking thing~ :D
You have over 25 of these? Pro battler maker you are, sir!

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

You got natural skill, my man. I don't use first-person battles, but I like what I see here. And let me say, it's really remarkable and selfless to make something for yourself so you'll have original battlers but then change your mind and release them to the public anyway. Someone will use these instead of dumpy rips, and the world will have better games for it.
Regarding file formats and crap: if it works in vx, it will work in xp and vx ace. These won't work in 2K3 though, for a variety of reasons (use of partial transparencies, too high color depth, would be taller than the screen, facing forward instead of to the right).

These are great, especially the second to last one. There's just something about his expression that makes it stand out. I'd totally use these if my game were using these types of battlers.
I dig the work, would definitely appreciate you posting the other battlers, and more should you choose to continue. Rock on. :D
...woah. You could charge (money) for graphics of this quality and I wouldn't complain.
Glad you guys like em', I'll go ahead and dump another set if that's OK. Regarding giving credit or whatever, that would be pretty cool but not necessary. Resource credit tends to be easily lost anyways but it's no big deal since I have the original full resolution versions of these drawings.
If there's any requests for edits on these, like cleaning up, re-adjusting shadows, adding an extra limb or skin pattern and so on, feel free to give me a heads up. It's no hassle at all. And of course, feel free to make your own edits on them.
I'm definitely down for personal commissioned requests, stuff like specifically designed boss battlers for unique projects. For now, I'll keep these free generic enemy battlers going in the meantime.

Part 3 of Monsters, Fiends, and Other Mean Things
I think that should be the bulk of my collection now. I got a few more coming, but from now on, I'm a-ok for general requests and fixing up what we got so far.

Stuff inspired by the Ars Goetia (Baal, Beelzebub, Moloch, etc.) might fit your style pretty well if you get stuck for ideas. You're pretty good at taking an animal or object and adding a bit of your own flair to it, making it that extra bit creepy or demonic.
Could also be cool to see your take on some African and Australian animals, not just the western European stuff we see in most games. Rhinos, giraffes, lions, kangaroos, Tazmanian devils...

It's kinda funny, I had an old sketch of this guy from a couple years ago sitting around so I fixed it up tonight. A generic take on him but it could be pretty cool to cover all 72 and base a game around it.
