RPG MAKER VX ACE FOR RETARDS

So I'm fucking around in RPG Maker VX Ace, and keep in mind I've jumped from using RM2K3 to Ace, skipping what, two versions (and the almost decade of time between them) of the program? That's a lot of time and a lot to learn. I'm learning piece by piece, but there are several things that elude me, mainly, scripting, customizing scripts, and smaller stuff like adjusting from how RM2K3 worked to how Ace works and what Ace is capable of.
Are there any GOOD tutorials out there that give me a broad spectrum of how to work this beast?

I know the feeling, I've make the exact same jump not too long ago. I liked GubiD's tutorials, he's a pretty cool scripter. His videos are also pretty clear and in depth. So I would recommend his youtube videos, found here: GubiD's Channel
That's a video that teaches you how to script your own Credit Scene, but just look through his channel if that doesn't interest you.
Good luck!

This is a good starting guide by Kelsper.
It covers some stuff about the main editor, database, creating some things through events (cutscenes, shops, etc.) and I believe briefly touches on scripts.

I've found VX Ace is pretty similar to 2003. That is, it has many of the same features and the ability to work with skill subsets (which XP seems to have skipped). There are alot of promising things to VX Ace, but the fact that it had few free resources, and the fact that many of the battle conditions seem missing (not to mention the whole not having battlers thing) kind of made me eventually decide to skip it.
Well, that and the nuisance of trying to convert hundreds of better graphics XP stuff to VX Ace, having to add the $ or whatever, and having to re-add transparency in the process of conversion.
