Hello RMN community! I'm krysch. A recent Computer Science graduate.
Now that I have that much time on my hands, I started practicing (again!) on the field of game development.

I'm not really new to the scene since I had minor experience with flash, XP and Game Maker, but
eventually I gave up when I tried that time. I'm reading tutorials (wikis and pdfs) while alongside following what
they were doing. While I was practicing the other day, I remembered a game that will serve as my motivation
to practice really hard. The game is called Suikoden.

After catching up with the recent updates about the franchise, I discovered that Suikoden is, as some people like
to call it, "going downhill/soon to be dead" since:
a. Konami's disbanded the original Suikoden development team.
b. They've started developing spin-offs rather than canon games.
c. Brushes off or avoids in giving a clear answer to the fans who are petitioning for Suikoden VI.
d. They're giving priority to their other franchises, namely MGS, Silent Hill and Castlevania.

Now I know this is might sound ridiculous (hence the thread's title), but I will be trying my best to land a job in Konami
as a game developer. Of course it's not going to be an easy task, so everyday, I take it as a discipline to
sharpen my game developing skills and hope that someday I will be included as one of the persons who will
shape the next (canon) Suikoden game.

I believe that the RPG making community will be patient to another somewhat newcomer like me and help me
achieve, if not become a step closer to my goal. So please take it easy on me okay?

P.S. Konami's a great company, I love them. But I guess their decision's lately are not well thought out.
Come on, I mean, three SH's in one month? They could have spent their funds on a different franchise.
and an english Suiko II on PSN, the fans has been craving for this ages ago.

Once again, hello to the community!

Welcome to RMN!

Your thoughts kinda reflect my own at one point. Except I wanted to work for New World Computing to make the next Might and Magic game. Then, I watched as the company fell apart, and was overtaken by 3DO. Then, that company died, and the franchise was handed over to Ubisoft. At least, I think that is what the story is. I've not seen a main-title Might and Magic game since the craptacular ninth entry...
Hello Marrend! It's good to know that there are other people in the community with the same high-end goals. It saddens me that some games gets buried in time when the developers and/or companies decides to call it quits (like when companies gets closed down or gets overtaken by another).
I saw that your Makerscore is quite high, thus I'm taking it that you have lot's of experience in the field of GameDev already?
I'm still rummaging the basics just to make sure I have a strong foundation in developing games. haha.

I'm pretty sure that most of my markerscore comes from reviewing games (I've done 22 reviews to-date), and having games with reviews (approximate average score: 3.29). As for experience with game development, this might have ten entries, but I only really consider five of those "mine".

Hello, Welcome! That game is a real reference around here, have fun!
I love the Suikoden Series, one of the greatest ever, in my opinion. I'm really sad to see the state it is in, but I'm glad to meet another Suikofan as well, so even though I'm actually newer than you, welcome anyway!

I do hope that you land that job at Konami and single handedly save the suikoden series, if you do. I will name my protagonist krysch in honor of you.
I've never played a suikoden game. I'm not even sure how to pronounce it, actually. Konami's best game was Blades of Steel, btw.

Welcome to RMN!
Happy to see another Suikoden fan on the site. It's a game series that needs more love.

Welcome to the site and have fun!
Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome! I appreciate it. I think I'll enjoy the community here. Let's do our best!
