RMVX ADDING "BUSH" ATTRIBUTE TO PARALLAX MAPS

I'm not sure if this has been asked before or not, but after figuring out how to do this in Ace, I tried adding the "bush" effect in VX where a character appears to be in high grass, but there wasn't anyway to add it. Now by default, VX does this with the grass auto-tiles, however I was wondering if this could be done with parallax maps as well?

Seeing as how VX doesn't handle tileset adjustments(4-way passage/bush/ladder etc.) the way XP, and Ace do it, I'm pretty much completely clueless on this.. :o
I Don't know if this will work, but it makes sense in my head.

1. Draw the grass.

2. Copy and paste the grass where it is.

3. Move the 2nd grass layer into your para file (the overlay that's above the player.)

4. Remove part of the 2nd grass-layer that wouldn't be going over the player. I.E, his head - the upper part of the grass.

5. Lower the 2nd grass-layer's opacity by 50%. (It will appear normal on the map, however, part of it will go over the player.)

6. Have one sexy party!

Tell me if this works, because I haven't tested it yet =3
Part of that works, though it's not quite the effect I was looking for. Now, VX and Ace are different engines, but is there a way to add the bush effect onto a blank tile in VX? It seems like it would be an easy thing to do, though VX has plenty of restrictions on tilesets compared to the other current engines.

(Oh, and I'm also using Khas' Pixel Movement + KGC 8D Movement scripts, if that helps in any way.)
Off topic, but I've always hated Pixel Movement in games that don't need it. And 8-D movement has the unfortunate side effect of giving you many weird tileset issues. Trying to pull that off with pano mapping is a nightmare; for me at least.

Did you try using a blank grass tile on certain parts of a map? I might be wrong, but isn't there a specific tile in VX the toggles the grass effect?

Yeah, I did, though it gets rid of the base a5 tile completely instead of going on top of it. As far as I know, the only way to edit a tileset in VX is through the passage settings, though that only changes whether its below/above or on the same level as a character.

All in all, the bush attribute isn't necessarily a "major" problem, just that it would seem odd if a character walks completely over the grass, when he/she should be going through it. xD
