ANYONE PLAYED FINAL FANTASY VI AS A PS1 CLASSIC?

FFVI is probably my favorite game and I already own the GBA port. That said, I love my Vita and would prefer to play it on that platform if I could.

I am contemplating downloading the PS1 classic version of the game from the PlayStation Store but I know the PS1 version of FFVI was dogged by painful loading times. I'm wondering if anyone's played it on either the PS3, PSP, or the Vita and could attest to the quality of its performance?

I can attest to the painful loading times of the PS1 version of FFVI (and CT). But that was because the animations for skills were stored on disk and it had to read the disk to load the animation and play it every time. I also wonder if, as basically a ROM played through an emulator on the PS3/Vita, that would still be laggy (or noticably laggy).

Darigaaz, Chrono Trigger! The loading times on the PS1 port were all kinds of bad. I don't recall there being an issue for any of the Final Fantasy titles, though.

*Edit: We are talking about Final Fantasy Anthology (FF5/FF6) and Final Fantasy Chronicles (FF4/CT), right?

Indeedily, those are the ones. I've considered just downloading a ROM to my tablet and using my 8Bitty controller, but I prefer gaming on my Vita as well as doing things legally where possible.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Chrono Trigger is still hella slow. I assume FF6 will be also. Though FF6's problems on the PSX weren't nearly as bad as Chrono Trigger's.

Thouhg there were cool 3d bits at the beginning and end the sounds were all weird and not how they were on the Snes; i think they used the old translation too. I'll admit to not having played the GBA one but I wouldn't exactly recommend the PS version.
If you download FF6 from the Playstation Store, expect to wait roughly 5-10 seconds or so for each battle to load and end. It also takes 4-5 to open the menu at times.
You might as well just stick with the SNES and GBA versions. The only real difference between the SNES version and the PS1 version is a few FMVs, beastiary, art gallery, and a status thingy. And load times. The load times aren't really that bad, if you compare them to some of the other RPGs on the PS1 though (Chrono Trigger is unplayable due to the load times IMO).

The GBA version you already own has all of this stuff in it, aside from the videos, with even more added on stuff (the extra areas, espers, etc.) so I'd just stick with that personally.
