A COLLECTION OF QUESTIONS ABOUT RPGVXACE

Hey there! If you didn't see my thread in the introductions forum I'm a new face around here and I've been working on a game that is <untitled>. Anyway there are some things I'd like to improve that I haven't found solutions to.
I apologize if I'm in the wrong section or am asking too much at once but I figure this is better than a bunch of threads.
1. The default battle system skips your turn if you press the right arrow key. Can I remove this from my game?
2. Is there a way to remove the default attack/guard buttons or add options to the main battle menu? I would like to make different options for characters and classes such as have my main character have attack/guard and mages have heal/regen mana, along with their special skills. (I could elaborate if this is confusing)
3. Has anyone found better menu sounds? The default sounds are rather poor!
Freesound.org ftw
4. Is it possible to use more than one icon set at once? I have more than one set in my folder but when I go to the item page it automatically uses the default item tileset.
5. I don't really understand script calls, but I do have some really nice scripts installed. Are there any good tutorials that cover this?
Some scripts I have installed that I HIGHLY recommend to anyone else using VX
-Yanfly Engine Ace
-Viktor Engine Basic
-Combat Enemy Health Bars
-Damage Popup
-Victory Aftermath
-Yanfly Message System
-Some form of text formatting
-Instant Actions
-Weapon Attack Replacer
So with these installed I've used some \pf commands, <instant> for instant actions and some other minor formatting but more advanced techniques remain a mystery!
7. I have a friend that has been playtesting my game but when I package my game files by including "RTP" files it doesn't include custom windows, battlers, tilesets, faces, sprites, etc.! It only included the custom music in my game. How can I properly distribute versions of my game without sending all of my resource files in my RPGVXAce "rtp" folder which is a large filesize?
Overall the amount of resources on this website are staggering and all other facets of my game have been edited already in some way. The only other thing I could possibly ask for is a nice dark, evil possibly even bloody tileset that fits in with the original style.
Edit:
8. How do I play animations outside of battles? Through scripting I'm assuming?
9. Can I add a settings option to my main menu controlling screen resolution and master volume?
I swear I'll stop there, but it's nice to have these written down even if nobody answers.

I can't answer a good majority of these. However, allow me to answer what I can.
1) I've not noticed this at all. In fact, I just did a battle in normal play, and this didn't happen for me.
4) I don't know about multiple iconsets, but I remember seeing at least one game with an absolutely huge iconset. If memory serves, it was the same length as the original, but the height was much longer. So my best guess is that you just make the iconset longer, and put in whatever you need.
6) There's something missing, here...
7) This is odd. Making a self-extracting executable should include everything that's in your project directory!
8) On page 2 of the Event Command window, there's a command called "Show Animation". That should work.

Thanks, I'll try making the iconset image larger, and look at the show animation function. At least I managed to find some menu sounds tonight. XD
I'll just point to this gunshot sound pack because hey it might come in handy.

1 - I think this might be one of the scripts you're using, interfering with the battle system as this just doesn't happen (I checked on a new project as well as an old one and had no issues with this occurring.)
2 - You can Seal Skills via the character creation in the database. Where you add resistances and whatnot, on the 'Skill' page you'll find the abilities.
4 - Not sure, but isn't it just basically taking the code they give you for the script call and popping it in the script command in events?
5 - If you've added the other art to the actual game folder, it should already be in there. You might also have to open the Game.ini file and change the "RTP=RPGMakerVXA" to "RTP="
That should help (I do believe) but you have to make sure that ALL files you used - RTP or not - are included or it will just keep crashing.

Alright so I found some solutions to a few things. I'll just update my list.
1. My combat system will still skip turns by hitting right arrow key. No idea why.
2.How do I remove the default attack/guard buttons on the combat screen?
3. I found good menu sounds and sound effects at freesound.org
4. This one was a bit tricky. Adding more icons to the icon image was a good solution Marrend! I went out on the web and found a free image editing program called GIMP. Then I resized the canvas, imported the other iconsets I wanted as new layers and aligned them properly so they fit in with the existing items in the grid. Voila! A tileset of the default icons+some of Timmah's work and other stuff from the resource section of this site.

To make RPGmaker use the file I just renamed it as IconSet.png in the system folder.
5. Just disregard this, I'm learning to use scripts as I need them and it's a vague question.
6. Oops! forgot a number.
7. So now my project is failing to compile when I try to include RTP data. I looked around the web but I'm not sure what causes this and it's difficult to troubleshoot. It may be a corrupt file, but compiling over and over to find it would take wayy too much time...
8. How do I play animations outside of battle? Thanks Marrend!
9.Can I add a settings option to my main menu controlling screen resolution and master volume?

2.How do I remove the default attack/guard buttons on the combat screen?
author=LibertyWhen I go to Actor page in Database it only allows me to seal "Special" or "Magic" under the skill tab.

You may insert/remove options for available skill types on the "Terms" page (last tab) of the database. Look for the "Skill Types" field. It may also behoove you to comb over the "Skills" tab to ensure that each skill is set to the appropriate type.
*Edit: 9) I've seen games that have these settings somewhere, so I know this is possible. Very probably with a script.
1. My combat system will still skip turns by hitting right arrow key. No idea why.
As I said, it probably has something to do with one of your battle scripts. Try moving them below the Main script and checking again. (Pro tip: moving a script below Main Process does the same as deleting them - basically it turns them off until you move them back above.)

Seriously? Because I just double-checked and I can seal Attack and Guard too. It's under the Skill tab, the last on the page (Seal Skill).
9.Can I add a settings option to my main menu controlling screen resolution and master volume?
With a script, probably. I know there's an Option script out there that allows you to change a host of things, including volume. You could probably ask someone to jury-rig you an edit for screen resolution.
Another Pro Tip: If you hover over the names of things in the database for a second or two a pop-up description will appear that tells you some things about it. In some cases it can come in very handy.

Well, yes, if he wanted to seal specific skills, like "Attack", or "Guard", that should be possible through the "Seal Skill" option. From what he was typing, he was trying to use "Seal Skill Type". Which is what I was responding to, to be honest.
