SCRIPT OR EVENT CODE HELP, PLEASE

I am new to the community and I'm using rpg maker xp. i've made an event where a kids asks you to find his ring. i have it set for when you find it; with a yes or no option. the thing is i need some way of checking for the item in your inventory.
