Hello, i'm using rpg maker xp. i've set up two events to play when the player touches either of them. the thing is i want to turn one or the other off when one is triggered. can you please help me? i've been trying to figure it out all day.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

This is what switches do. They turn things on or off.
When the player touches one of the events, turn on a switch. Then give the event a second page, which depends on this switch. What that means is that if the switch is on, the event will use the second page instead of the first page. So on the second page, you put whatever graphics and actions you want it to have after the player has triggered the event and turned on the switch. You can make any other event in the game also depend on the switch - so that if the player triggers this event, it'll change all those other events too.

yes, i know what switches do. i have them set up like that. what i am trying to do is when one or other event is touched by the player. i what to turn the other even off, so it can't be triggered. but i can't figure it out.
sorry i'm not being clear enough. on the event; i have one page it is set to player touch, with a switch set to on. the second page has some text and is set to autorun and it has a switch. which turns off the event.
the second event is just a copy of the first event. what i've trying to do is set up a switch; so that in event A is trigger then event B turns off and if event B is triggered then event A turns off.

i forgot to thank you Lockez. -face palm- i just figured it out. was so simple, i was over thinking it.
i reworked the scene so that i now only have one event to trigger. much easier and less of a head ache.

It would have worked with two events if it had been like this:
Event A, page 1:
Conditions: none
Actions: Turn on switch #2
Event A, page 2:
Conditions: switch #1 is on
Actions: none
Event B, page 1:
Conditions: none
Actions: Turn on switch #1
Event B, page 2:
Conditions: switch #2 is on
Actions: none
Event A, page 1:
Conditions: none
Actions: Turn on switch #2
Event A, page 2:
Conditions: switch #1 is on
Actions: none
Event B, page 1:
Conditions: none
Actions: Turn on switch #1
Event B, page 2:
Conditions: switch #2 is on
Actions: none
