Hi there everyone! Figured I'd join since I have used this website quite a bit over the last few days for troubleshooting. I'm making good progress but I realized something. I am fairly certain that after making my game playing it might be a struggle to play it. After creating towns, people, events, and script I know wonder how anyone could actually sit down and play the game after they are done. By the end I will know what everyone says, how everything works, and what will happen from beginning to end. :( Maybe I am just over thinking things. Anyone out there get past this hurdle and can offer some advice? I guess the idea of playing a game I made myself might be the motivation I need. :)
Edit:
O.k., decided to forego previous idea. Now I need help with an event. I want to have an event where an impassable tile changes to a passable one. Specifically, I want to change a water tile to a grass one and have it be a permanent change. I am not really sure how to go about that.

With testing one's own work:
I've been known to do test plays after making events with a lot of move-routes to make sure they run they way I think they should. Sometimes they do. Sometimes they don't. There have been also times that I do test plays that go from-the-beginning to the-point-where-I-left-off, and find that there is a sequence or two that doesn't quite fit anymore.
With changing tile graphics and/or properties:
That would largely depend on which engine you are using, I would think.

I think I need to do a run through soon. I've made quite a bit of progress and I need to know if things will work the way I think they will lol.
I've seen some people says things like that but I didn't seem to understand what they were talking about. I'm using RPG Maker VX Ace by the way. I can make events for pretty much everything else, but I'm at a point where I need to figure out how to change an impassable water tile to an ice tile. The idea being that they froze that section of the water. I don't mind if it turns off, or doesn't, I just need to make it happen in the first place.

Marketing is key to getting your game played. It is just how it works with humans. We judge a bookgame by its coverscreenshots. But anywho, I hope you like it here! Welcome to RMN!
