But why would you want only one save file? I can't see how this is ever a good design choice (not even if that's all the room there is on the cartridge for the game, but sometimes that can't be helped).
Oh, I didn't know there was a such a patch. Very cool.
In an RPG, it would be a turn off. I'm so used to keeping a few backups, at least. It could add a bit of difficulty if you only have 1 save and you have no safety net...but on the other hand if you save in a place where you can't get out then your game is ruined and you'd have tostart over delete the game forever and curse the creator for being an idiot.
For other non-RPG games, it's not as big a deal.

It can have some advantages. I'm playing Fable 2 atm and that game also has 1 save per game. Considering the game is all about left or right decisions, this limitation makes you think about your decisions a bit better.

Except my game's choices aren't just black and white.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

It really doesn't; you can still reload back to before you made the choice if you change your mind.
What I think you ACTUALLY want is an "ironman" mode, where the game auto-saves after every meaningful decision and there's no manual save option. This keeps the player from save scumming, but still lets you start a new game without deleting your old save.

You know Deus Ex?
They're choices like that.
Speaking of DX, I'm gonna go and play that a bit, then continue with my game.
