I use RPGMaker XP.
I have a farming skill that allows a player to plant a seed, but as this happens a timer goes off which indicates when the plants will be ready to harvest. In the meantime, players can do other skills while they wait for their timer to decrease to 0:00. Once it does though, players ABSOLUTELY need to go harvest their plants because if it doesn't, madness occurs.
When a timer hits 0:00, Combat is AUTOMATICALLY disrupted. I would expect this to have to be something with the script, so I would have to change it through there...
It's just very annoying to see that people can plant a seed and then when the timer hits 0:00, anyone can complete a very hard quest without actually going through the battles.
What I need is a way to stop this - a way to stop the battle from being disrupted even though the timer hits 0:00.

Have an additional switch that flips on when you enter a battle and flips off when you exit.
If the switch is on when the timer goes off, add 5 second to the timer, or delay it in some way so that the event doesn't trigger until the battle is exited.

That wouldn't really work though since some fights are very quick and others very slow. Is there a way in the script to change it?
I'm not familiar with XP to be honest but if its anywhere near the same as 2k3 with battles and timers you will have to pause the timer for battles to get around this (baring a custom script of course).
Can you call common events and have them run as parallel processes? If so you can do a custom timer counting down the seconds that were remaining in the clock before the party entered a battle.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I made two options for you.
First, here's a script to make timers only count down when you're not in combat. Note it lets you use a switch (switch 50 by default) to turn the feature on and off, because you might have different kinds of timers at different points in the game.
If you instead want the timer to continue to count down during battles, but battles to continue after the timer hits 0, use this script instead. There's no switch to turn this one on or off - it's just always on, because really, it sounds like you're unlikely to ever want this feature turned back on.
No credit needed. All I did was take the default scripts, and add an extra conditional branch to the first one, and delete three lines out of the second one. If you'd searched through the scripts for the word "timer" you probably could've managed this yourself even if you've never seen code before. ;)

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Yeah, when adding a script, you add it after all the built-in scripts and before the one called "Main". Right-click on Main on the list of scripts on the left-hand side, and choose "Insert" and it'll create a new script above Main. Paste the script in the new blank page on the right.
